  you don't like startssl? their free certs now allow up to 10 domains and are valid for 3 years. not quite wildcard but still pretty good.

    Let's Encrypt also doesn't work for non-internet facing hosts.

        I'm assuming you'll need a plugin to be able to automatically update the TXT records on renewal as well?
        I put it in the too hard basket for my FreeNAS instance.

    They actually shared your SSL with other hostnames unless you pay for a dedicated SSL.
