Chuwi Hi10 Pro 2-in-1 Win 10 Tablet 4GB/64GB with Keyboard Dock - Free DHL Delivery - US $169.99 (~AU $227) @ GearBest

460

[UPDATE 14/11 4PM] - Back to AU $227 again only 12 units available.

Originally contemplating buying Chuwi Hi10 (not pro) at aliexpress as it appeared on front page OB yesterday. That one ended up around AU$254 when bundled with keyboard dock.

Checked Gearbest under the 11.11 promotion and found buy 1 get 1 free section - means the keyboard dock comes in free. Final price is AU$227. Not only it's cheaper but this is the pro version which is metal body (and few other upgrades).

The page says promo ends in 9 days and 10 hours (since time of posting) however the picture on the page does say "Flash Deal" which normally means very short promotion period. I'm no expert with Gearbest so you guys probably know better.

I found out that Expedited shipping (DHL) came free with promise of 3-7 business days shipping period.

  • Says 171 left but when added to cart a banner across the picture says "backorder"?

    • I just placed my order. Didn't see what you described. Will update when I receive notification of shipping

      • +2

the shipment shall be arranged at next week since we dont work tomorrow.

    • +2

      Hi Benjamin7711,

As confirmed,300 stock will back today,so the shipment shall wont be too late.

  • 1.5hr-2hr playback of youtube video before battery dies? https://youtu.be/WT8KDymW0bc

    • Seems to be around 7 hours 'normal' use according to this http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/review/cheap-tablets/windows-10-l…

    • Yeah seems odd to me..ie the HP Stream 7 battery is 3000mah and lasts about that long streaming video so 6500mah in this should be 5+ hours.

      • then again it could be to do with the keyboard's power draw, given it's kb/touchpad/usb hub with 2 ports etc

        • Good point, keep the dock detached when watching videos. But the dock works as the stand too!

      • +1

The screen would play quite a large part. 10" screen is significantly larger than 7", and it's also higher resolution. 1920x1200 (Chuwi Hi10) is 2.25 the pixel count of of 1280x800 (Stream 7).

  • how does this stack up against the US$142 delivered Teclast X98 Plus II? 9.7 " Intel Z8300 Android 5.1 & Windows 10 Dual OS Quad Core 4G RAM 64G ROM IPS Retina 2048*1536 Tablet PC

    • Wow that is serious screen resolution. I didn't research any Teclast before. Seems like similar spec but the it won the resolution department by far. Does not seem to have a docking keyboard available (only bluetooth keyboard) and that's a negative for me. Total AU $225 with added "bluetooth" keyboard. I guess depends on your priority (resolution vs keyboard docking?). Also no Type C USB charging on this Teclast unit?

      • yeah, No Type C.

  • +2

Also agonised over the other deal - sometimes procrastinating pays off lol

    Thanks Rsalim

    • I was contemplating the whole night!

  • Where is the best place to buy the pen? Cant seem to find it on gearbest

  • can any advise if i got a good deal for the asus tf103c for 274, the guy at good guys said i get no discount for floor stock and it was an awesome tablet but it seems a bit crappy in specs. i dont know much and took his word for it but it seems slow

  • i wanted a tablet for camping and this is what he said to get

  • This unit was going to release with a dual OS. Does anyone know if that is going to happen successfully, like the teclast has? (I bought teclast x98 plus first version for mum and its been excellent a part from a dicky powe button, a common fault in first series)

    • As far as I know, this one is dual boot win10/android. Didn't research much into it since the Android OS would be pretty much useless for me

  • This is a much better deal than the Aliexpress one from yesterday. The one that was $139.99 USD. They wanted $60 for the keyboard and it's a flimsy one.

    • Yeah ended up quite expensive and you DO want the keyboard!

  • Is pro any different?

Also note free DHL shipping more clearly in OP, very very good selling point (usually ~$20+ extra for a package this size??)!

    • Yeah the free DHL shipping is a surprise.

Pro has metal body (but slightly heavier) and support for stylus. They take out the USB slot from hi10 but they replaced them on the keyboard dock.

Other than that I think about the same spec-wise

      • How many USB ports and what type?

        • I think the hi10 has 2 usb slots (2.0) on the unit.

Hi10 Pro seems to have 2 usb slots 2.0 as well but in the dock, not on unit. I'm not too certain about this but the picture of the dock indicates this.

        • @Rsalim: good enough for me.

Will be able to confirm in 3-7 business days.. :p

        • @Rsalim:

          Type-C(2.0 speed): Yes
          Micro USB Slot: Yes
          Micro HDMI: Yes

        • @teckiwi: that's for the unit itself.they keyboard dock should have 2 more usb slots. Will confirm when I receive

        • @teckiwi:
I never really bother reading the specs stated on sites like GearBest, they're almost always wrong.

Edit: The Type-C is for charging and the MicroUSB is a USB port, though requires and OTG cable.

  • can we play LOL with this?

    • I've seen video review testing with skyrim (on low setting). I guess it's possible though I don't know how much heat it will generate. I'll be content by playing 2D games on steam

    • +1

Anything with enough RAM (~2GB+) will run LoL, though if it's playable is a different question… You should in theory get a good 30-40 FPS on lowest settings, if you consider that playable?

      Edit: https://youtu.be/yj3EeFRvkj0?t=34m54s
Guild wars 1 works really well - I assume LoL should be playable.

  • Great find thank you!

  • Not GPS :(

  • I am considering whether to pick up this or Chuwi HiBook pro:
    http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_361966.html with total price AU$297.24 (extra $70)
    with the following differences:
    1. Much better screen resolution (2560x1600 vs 1920x1200)
    2. No Stylus Support for HiBook.

So I am confused whether to choose resolution or stylus support.

    Could you give your opinion

    • Honestly I was going by $ only. Also I'm not going to use stylus so it is irrelevant to me. Furthermore I already ordered the hi10 pro so my opinion would be bias! Ha!

However if this helps you, check out this review (was posted by @dyl up there). The stylus (which would be extra cost) does not seem to work really well. It works but it's not Microsoft Surface Pro which is 10x more expensive.

So for you, the question would be: does $70 worth the extra resolution?

      • Thanks for the reply.

I understand that the stylus does not work as Surface but I like to have an option to use one if I need to.
On the other hand, the display on HiBook is much sharper and work better outdoor.

I plan to replace this with my Galaxy Note 10.1" 2014 which has stylus support!

Well.. it is a hard decision!

This channel has a lot of reviews on Chuwi products
        https://www.youtube.com/user/hendrickson

    • The resolution is far higher than needed and honestly there's no GPU to do much with it.

      • At 10", not really.

You're right about the GPU though. If you don't do any gaming on it, it's fine.

What I've found with Intel GPUs is the 2D games don't seem to look right. They look pixellated even when not scaled. Even my SP4 has this issue.

        • I don't find myself holding a 10" tablet any closer than I would a 15.6" laptop - never understood the need for higher resolutions? I've used a few 10" 1280*720 devices and could imagine 1080p being okay (could actually benefit from split screening applications…) but anything higher (imo) you wouldn't get much of a quality difference from so far away and it'd just make things look smaller.

  • Hi @gearbest
Which specific DHL service do you use? Is online tracking available?
The reason I ask is that I ordered a Teclast TBook Pro 16 last week and the tracking number doesn't work. Your website says it shipped on November 5 and to track it on the Australia Post site. But the AusPost site knows nothing about it.

    • Hi carmar, could you pls pm me your order number for checking?

For DHL,you always could track order at http://www.dhl.com/en.html

      • PM sent

  • +1

Just a warning that Gearbest are a bit suss sometimes. Quite a lot of people have bought things from that site, including myself, and have ended up with a crap product, or a broken one and no refund.I wouldn't shop there again.

    • Hi DaTJo,

You can always contact me for sloving this, regarding to the products,we got them from same supplier as aliexpress or other stores,we have better quality control system for now.
Anyway,if you need help, pls just contact me via pm or [email protected].

      Thanks,

      Sunny

  • I would fork out a little more and go with something like this, since it has fully laminated screen:
    http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_361966.html

    • "The keyboard in the picture is not included"

      • Haha.. and they class it as "Ultrabook".

    • Same with blitzzbargain up there then

      • +1

I ended up buying the Hi10 Pro because I need to use stylus, so I need to give up for a better screen resolution.
        Thanks

    • What's a laminated screen? Is it like a built in screen protector that isn't removable?

      • It means no gap between the glass screen and the digitizer. Which means you mitigate the weird artifacts that usually occur with these Chinese tablets. I got the Cube iWork 10 (about 1mm gap between screen and digitiser) and in bright light you can see a grid of dots across the screen which is really ugly. Also the screen has a slight distortion and the gap is ugly in general.

        • Is it only chinese devices that have that gap?

I have had Sony, HTC and other branded devices where at an angle and with the screen off you can see the patterns on the screen. It never really bothered me though.

  • Price coming up as AU$304.02?

    • Still showing AU $227 just now

  • +1

    Price has expired.

    • Still active for me?

      • Still showing $227 (US $169.99) to me. Do you have the currency and 'ship to' set up to Australia?

    • Still more expensive than OP listing, but buying tablet (AUD$216) and keyboard (AUD$47) separately is still on sale, but only flat rate slow shipping….

      • priority line is also available for free

    • Yes should be marked expired as they only had 300 at the price (and when I looked last night it was 170 left then 161), showing AU$304.02 now and the bar with the number left has gone. The 300 have been sold presumably.

Last night when adding to cart it showed:
      "Total Cost Commodity price : 227.27 + Insurance: 5.88 = AUD 233.16"

      • Just wondering how does the expiry tag work? I didn't do anything and it was already tagged expired

        • Someone reported the deal as expired so I mod marked it as expired.

        • @Clear: oh I see. Yeah the price appeared to have increased already. Wish @gearbest could drop by and update what's the status of the promo

        • +1

          @Rsalim:

We will try to bring this deal back again!

        • @gearbest: Hope to see this deal back, even if for a limited few hours. Thanks GB rep :D

        • It's back!!!

  • Front page still shows the deal but then checkout changes.

    • Is this common in @gearbest ?

      • What?

        • as droodle described, front page shows the promo price but changed when checked out

  • Perhaps the OP is confused.

Deal shows up as $304 AUD.. but when you set price to US, it comes up as $227 USD..

Seems a bit strange that its either $227 AUD and USD..

    • Was definitely USD$169.99 with tablet and keyboard combined with DHL shipping last night. I snoozed and I lost. : (

  • I got the Cube Iwork 10 (with keyboard, and Chu wi pen) from GearBest two months ago and it stopped working after a few days. I am happy that GearBest refunded me. Of course I had to pay the return postage of over $60.

The experience with GeekBuying was the worst with the Mi Pad 2 stopped working after two months. It worked for a short time after returning to them for a fix. They asked for USD45 to fix it (again) but not refunding as promised. Eventually I gave up, losing around $200 with payment and return shippings.

So, a + for GearBest for its post sale service. But I am afraid to spend on "big items" with Chinese sellers now.

  • Weren't you covered by the 180 day PayPal extended warranty and also by the paypal Returns refund?

  • Can anyone recommend a 128GB TF card for this?
Seeing as it's just for expansion, is paying for premium necessary or will anything do the job just fine?

Any bargains about? Gearbest had a few cheapies but never heard of the brands before.

    • +1

You can get an EVO+ for around $50 from time to time.

It's fine as a storage drive as long as you don't transfer large amounts of very small sized files. This will take ages to put on.

If you're putting on large movie files, it's more than fine.

  • Bugger, thought about it too long.

  • Still says 170 left for me… $169.99 USD..

Edit: adding to cart shows higher price??

    • Have you refreshed the page? Mine says AU $304 now ~ US $227

      • AU$227.27, it's glitchy though. Adding to cart shows the higher ~$300 price.

Seems to have switched over when it switched to "ships _" preorder stock.

  • Great deal. I bought a from Taobao @ around $211 stacking bunch of 11.11 vouchers but that's just domestic shipping in China. This is probably the best price they could do shipping to overseas (and CR applies too).

  • i tried and tried to get this yesterday,

      • Is it gone already now??

        • 3 stock left,hurry up!

        • @gearbest: are these all gone now? price is showing AUD$304 for me

        • @jayewyld:

          Hi Jayewyld,

I just confirmed with my colleague that some customer will add to cart and didnt pay,if they didnt finish payment within 30 minutes, the stock will be released at 169.99 to other customers.

I will check this and let you know when it available at 169.99 again.

          Sunny
