Well the Chromecast Ultra is ~$69USD and the Chromecast V2 is ~$59. The point is, when the Ultra comes out, these will drop in price so might be best to wait :)
FYI: JB HiFi have it in their system that the Chromecast Ultra is launching locally on the 24th.

Im in the states at the moment, picked one up for $99.75AUD (after conversion) from Best Buy.
I understood the point of the other Chromecast models as some HDTVs weren't smart, but I don't really understand the point of the 4K version, since all 4K TVs are smart already?

I had a $20 in-store code with no minimum spend from TGGs that expired today without using it. I could have this for $23.20 with that code. That's how lazy I am. :(

I was lucky that I had a big ticket item price matched at JB Hifi then! I saved myself around $700, the salesman was incredulous but honoured the price match plus threw in extra warranty and cables hehehehe…
