      • Thanks for taking the time to reply

  • Hi,

I am deciding between the Samsung UA55KU6000W and the Panasonic TH-55DX640A which with click frenzy is down to $1049 (with cash back card)

I was going to buy the Samsung on special through GG but saw the Panasonic but is 200Hz.

While Panasonic has a faster processor have heard good things about the Samsung…. Any feedback would be great!!

    • if you're not a gamer, then i might go with the panasonic. twin hd tuner and all the stuff you said. 200hz has always been a gimmick i think. 100hz is plenty fine.

      • Thanks for the answer.. Pardon my ignorance but if I were a gamer why would I choose the Samsung over the Pana? I'd think Hz rate would assist with gaming?

I am using foxtel and roku so won't use twin tuner.. Any difference in panel quality?

        Thanks again!

        • Input lag - some TVs have a lag on the HDMI input, which affects gaming performance (response times etc).

The Samsungs are regarded as one of the best on the market for gaming as it has the lowest input lag.

  • Has anyone received their confirmation email to pick up yet?

    • Some have. As usual, I haven't. My online orders usually take longer to process than others…annoying!

      • I just hope they actually have enough stock.

  • Is it worth to purchase extended 5 years warranty as well?

    • No, extended warranties are for people who don't know Aus Consumer Law.

      • Do explain please? :)

  • How do you cancel an order? Do I just ring up the store I selected in click and collect or via Ebay?

    • why you wanna cancel ?
if you lived in Melbourne, i am happy to buy it

      • Never mind, I thought they are not going to process today for pickup and I can't pickup the next few days. They just called so all good.

  • Im semi sure about this. So this is ultra hd. Is it 100hz or 200hz?

Most tv of this size are around 2k. How come this is so cheap?

    • This is likely to be 100hz, it is cheap because it does not have proper HDR 10 bits, it have HDR 8 bits which will not bring the best out of HDR videos. Other than that, it is really a good TV for the price. I think Samsung is trying to clear stock to make way for 2017 TV.

    • This TV was $1,799 when it was first released in early 2016. Most stores have been selling it recently for $1,495, but regularly could be had on sale for ~$1,200.

This is the first time it has been sub $1k and only because the moon and stars have lined up and you can stack the eBay code with a corresponding sale price from TGG.

  • Signed & Sealed, OzBargains gets me again, just took the plunge seconds ago. Over 780 sold, lets hope their is plenty of stock!

  • Has anybody had trouble using Netflix app on the TV? I can't even get to the sign in page.
I have already tried updated the tv software and reinstalling Netflix.

  • Can you pay via GG Giftcard as can get them 5% off?
mmm the mob I used to get 5% off no longer :(
Is the voucher used make not eligible for $50 cashrewards?

  • Anyone in NSW got theirs yet? If so what store? Have heard nothing from TGG Bankstown =/

  • Ordered yesterday…..delivery tomorrow… wow that was quick!

  • Does anybody know if it will fit in a Mazda 3 sedan? I'm guessing not..

  • Thought about it over the last two days and finally took the plunge. Sale ends tonight so …if I have buyers remorse I can always tell good guys I changed my mind… Hmmm

Need to sell my old tv then…otherwise I got no space haha

Anyone having issues putting the 2x stand pieces together? Mine doesn't seem to click into eachother

    • yep, it's like it was the wrong piece. screw holes didn't quite align

      • Problem is, once its up on the stand, the TV slants ever so slightly backwards (facing the ceiling)….

      • Yeah it seems really loose and has a bit of swivel to it?

    • I thought it didn't align but I was able to align the front side first then press them together.

    • yeah, the screw holes is not well aligned, took a bit of force to screw them in. Other than that great tv.

  • Picked up my TV today. My VW Polo was just large enough to pick it up - but we had to push the chairs all the way to the front, and we removed the boot covers.

The TV looks fantastic - the UHD works like a treat. I have VDSL2 so we can stream at 4k with easy.

Last year I helped my in-laws buy their Samsung 55 inch UHD tv and my brother with his FHD Smart Samsung TV.
This TV has a much nicer menu system, and it even works with the Bluetooth wireless keyboard I was using with the laptop I had hooked up to my prevbious TV.

Great TV so far - highly recommend it.

    • Bluetooth? Maybe I should read the manual

      • I have a logitech dinovo edge - it comes with a Butooth dongle which I have attached via the USB

        • Cool. Tried it with my Logitech K400R and that works too. Surprising that they included the drivers for these things in the tv o/s. Makes me wonder what else might work.

  • So far, not so happy with the picture quality! Does anyone know how to Calibrate the picture settings? Thanks.

    • RTINGS has good calibration settings. I used my Xbox one S calibrstion dash app

    • I had a bit of buyer's remorse with it at first. I changed picture from Standard to Natural and I'm happier now.

      • This set might be different, but I've always found 'Cinema' mode on TV's give the best colour/hue range.

  • Ok so TGG failed to send me a notification to come pick it up. Sick of waiting I decided to go in store to ask and it was there all along.

  • Xbox One S seems to identify this tv as having 10-bit colour… guess it must be wrong, but that's what I set it to in the xbox settings.

    • Xbox one s now detecting it properly as 8-bit. It's annoying that we can only use one HDMI input for HDR as I have 2 devices.

Well I finally set the tv up. How come the picture quality isn't that good? Its no even HD quality? What may I be doing wrong?

    • What sources have you tried? I find FTA tv looks a bit crap. Maybe because the set is so much larger than my old one and the limitations of the broadcast are just more obvious. Everything else looks great. There are known issues with the ps4 pro connecting to 4k televisions. Does this apply to you?

  • Does anyone know TGG refund policy? I am thinking of returning this TV? The picture quality is just poor even when I am at HD channels. And the PS4 picture quality is just bad!

    • Interested to know this also.

The power efficiency sticker has left adhesive residue on my screen =(

    • Same!!!!!!!!!!

  • Out of the box it looked rubbish. Tweaked the settings a lot and FTA still looked crap although a bit more tolerable. Played a 4K video on YouTube and was BLOWN AWAY. It looked AMAZING. The blacks were very crisp and the detail was great. Much happier with it now. Big mistake watching FTA first thing. Can tolerate it now knowing I just need to find more 4k content (hard right now but currently investigating 4k add ons on Kodi, using youtube and just putting up with the mediocre HD FTA channels).

    • You can get a one month free trial to Netflix. Lots of 4k content there. Finding it hard to drag myself away from the thing. Yeah. Don't know what it is about fta. It seems to upscale sd and 720p content from other source just fine.

  • I have had no trouble. Straight out of the box everything looked amazing even Fta. Looks way better than previous TV and couldn't compare it to the Audi bauhn 55" as that was absolute rubbish.
