CSS is a SteamPlay title, so if you own it on the PC – you own it on the Mac. Besides PC Vs. Mac cross-platform play, this update also adds achievements, stats, engine updates and more.
Is this the cheapest we have seen from steam?

Cheapest I've seen (I've only been using Steam since April 09) is $5 USD. Maybe late last year or so? I bought it at the time.
Anyone know if you already own CS:S, do you get this update or do you have to buy it? I'd think buy, but it seems stupid to have 99% the same game but have 2 separate games.
Updates are free. This isn't DLC.

Valve DLCs are usually free too!
Take the L4D and L4D2 DLCs for example.
Other publishers make you pay for DLCs though. >_>
Is the CSS 'community' still the same? Internet at its worst :(
Just avoid the holidays as thats when all the kids are hacking like crazy.
Their usual comeback with aimbots, speed hacks, etc is "I don't care about getting banned as I've got lots of accounts."
So at this price, they might just be able to afford it with their pocket money.

Steam strikes again
It asks to create a steam account. Is the steam username only used for purchasing and downloading stuff? Or is it also your screen name?
it's just the account name. you can change ur screen name anytime you want.
