    • Oh well i missed out anyway. Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep a lookout for something newer.

  • Which video card do people recommend which allows me to drive the Sony 43" at native 4k resolution @ 60hz. Don't want to spend too much on the video card.

I don't play games but mainly web, and large spreadsheets and charts etc.

    • +1

      I don't play games

Then you may not need a new video card to use 4K, how old is your PC? What kind of integrated graphics does it have currently?

      • Its not the latest PC, it quite old infact.
It has a Nvidia GT9500 DVI output video card. Which outputs fine on a 2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz perfectly.

  • 49" X8000D appears to be sold out. Pity.

  • 49" X8000D looks like sold out

    • Showing in stock for me.

      • It says in stock but when you add in the cart it says not available.

  • anyone would recommend the speaker? for 400 dollars, any other better options?

    • These are great value - but too late as they're sold out.

  • Cheers TA. I said to myself if they are still in stock when I get home I will pull the trigger (43"). Expected cash back from Cash Rewards is $43.18 so I would be really happy with that if that is the case.

  • 49" TV is back in stock. So weird, I put it in my Wishlist last night, when I clicked on my Wishlist this morning, it say in stock. But if you click it directly from this page, it say no longer available!!!
    Anyway, ordered the 49" one.

Looks like TVs are all sold out
    oh well, I saved $999

  • I own the 43" (got it in the EBGames deal, woo!) and am using it with my PS4 Pro as well as with my gaming computer (i7 4960X, 1080 Strix). Happy to field any questions regarding this TV.

    Brief summary below:
The TV has been really good. Zero perceivable input lag when used with correct cables and ports. Took a little messing around with the Nvidia Control Panel to get the computer to output the correct format for the TV though, Sony/Nvidia really need to fix that. Colours and HDR work really well.

    • I bought the 43". How is it with the PS4 Pro? Worth the upgrade to pro from standard PS4?

      • How does it compare to your old monitor?
        What type Monitor was it?

What games are you playing on Computer for it?
What games are you playing on Ps4 For it?

        Any FPS?

Do you think it was worth the purchase over your old Monitor?

Sorry for all the questions! :P trying to decide if I want a 40" for a new monitor and ps4 myself!

      • Hey Mitchell,

It really depends. The idea of the Pro is great, but there really aren't many games that support it right now. Unless the games you want/play support the Pro, there is no point. The r/ps4 subreddit has a list of Pro 'updated' games if you're interested. I have PSVR, so that's the main reason i purchased the Pro. The improvements in that are good on most games.

TL;DR - if the games you play support the Pro, get it. If not, wait for a price drop.

    • Have you used it as a desktop monitor on a computer desk? If you have:

      1) do you have to sit back/change posture quite a bit in order to view and utilise the screen comfortably?

      Thanks!

      • +1

        Hey avexdevil,

I do use it on my computer desk as my second screen. It sits hard up against the wall (desk is 1.2m wide). Sitting that close means you will need to lean back to view the entire screen comfortably. I have a 28" 4K gaming monitor that I mostly use for gaming, but the Sony is a really sweet gaming monitor too. I would say it is probably too big for a full time gaming monitor at that distance for a computer (as you need to lean towards the mouse and keyboard) but for desk console gaming it's perfect cause you can lean back a lot more (I sit about 2m from the TV).

Of course, if you wanted to be really immersed into your game it could work as a full time monitor. Just means lots of head moving which can cause issues after long sessions.

If it wasn't for gaming, it may be okay cause I fit 6 windows/applications on the screen at once with the same 'size' as the 28", so you aren't moving around a lot to read/write content.

  • Could I stack the 60% off headphones coupon for the Castle Hill kiosk opening on the noise cancelling headphones (MDR100ABNB) discount? Would bring them to $151.60.

    • What is this 60% off coupon?

      • Sony sent me a survey leading up to the opening of the Castle Hill Kiosk, for completing it they sent me a 60% off headphones coupon valid for the opening month at the Castle Hill Kiosk. I eventually noticed it said not valid with other offers, and I got too busy at work to get off early and even try.

        • Ah right. If by chane you aren't using the coupon, happy to use it for you :)

  • In case people haven't noticed yet, they've added more TV models. Saying it's part of Click Frenzy but probably not.

  • Wow the TV's are ALMOST as cheap as JB now! :)

  • AV Receiver dispatched today! Cheers for the deal post TA. If it's like the last big one, it should arrive in a few days with DHL.

My order arrived today (MEL), despatched yesterday. Very quick delivery, via DHL. DHL site gives little information so you may get it before you realise!

Got it this morning, great service as usual from Sony & DHL!

  • My speaker purchase: credit card shows the transaction is still pending, and my order status on the SONY site is not shipped.

Anyone here had their speaker shipping confirmed?

  • Anyone received their TV yet? I know it say ship on 2nd week of Dec for backorder, but when I placed my order, it say "in stock"… just wondering.

  • Hey I would like to know if anyones tv has shipped? I pretty much ordered mine as soon as the deal was live and it hasn't been shipped yet,

    • eta for delivery was mid december.

      • Yeah i just got an email from sony saying the same thing.

  • Ordered a 43" and it is apparently being shipped today via DHL Supply Chain.

Pity as no one will be around to collect the order, I was expecting a December delivery as it was stated on the Sony website.

Will have to call DHL and have the delivery redirected.

    • odd. no such email, but am overseas now so hopefully they don't fulfill my order this week.
      which state are you in?

      • NSW.

If you do get the email and won't be home for delivery, call DHL Supply Chain on 1300 362 194 (note this is different to the normal DHL number) and they can redirect the delivery elsewhere for you. Pick-up hours are 9am to 4pm, which is next to useless, so I have instead redirected it elsewhere.

Got an email saying my 43" has been dispatched today. Coming from Syd to Melb

  • Just got my DHL tracking number from Sony. Am in Perth.

  • Received tracking from sony for DHL, Syd to Gold Coast. DHL website is useless though and shows no tracking.

    • Tracking is useless. Called the number above, still waiting on a callback.

Timing couldn't be worse. Only day to rain all week (instructed them to leave it outside since no one is home) and i'll be leaving interstate tomorrow. Skinny time window to get this delivered.
