Standard styluses don't work, however, they make ones with the point made of either sponge or rubber. That is why the end of this stylus is wider, to simulate a finger. I could see a use for it on an iPad, especially with some of the kids writing and drawing apps, however I don't think I'd bother with it for an iPhone!?
These are special, conductive stylii - the barrel is metal and the soft (hollow) rubber tip has graphite or something in it so that the capacitive touchscreen works properly. The similar type with a bevelled hard rubber tip are much harder to use.
I stylus is VERY handy on a small screen like an iPhone, especially for email or twitter in portrait mode, and playing games that require fine control. I use a stylus every day - once you've used one you'd never prefer plain fingers (although the iphone is great because it suits both).
Too bad if youve bought from them before, because apparently the promo code only works for new signups.. Too bad for any actual prior customers here..

Styluses/stylii may be (ahem) pointless, however there are gloves that pass on your finger's capacitance which would be rather handy in colder weather.
These stylus are 2 for US$1 (say AU55c each) delivered for non-bulk quantities from sites like BuyInCoins.com. It's a pretty lame giveaway, really.

I received mine today. It doesn't work on the iphone at all. the phone doesn't even recognise that something is touching it with the stylus. So be careful before buying anything similar for your iphone or ipad! i thought it might help with messaging when my fat fingers poke the wrong letters
Huh? I dont see why I would need Stylus on my iPhone.. I thought stylus is outdated..
