I don't think I've seen any deal with as many negs as this.

    • +3

Yeah must be some sort of record, especially since the new rules on negging.

Mods have also revoked probably between 30 and 50.

    • +2

      I have :)

      • +1

Thanks! I was searching for that.

    • I managed to get one. Thanks OzB and Gearbest.

  • +6

So much dodginess going on here…

    For Zanflare F1 LED Flashlight - 6000-6500K:
    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/120890/44240/ozbf1.png

    • Yay! at least flashlight was bought by Australians!

  • Hi Rep/Sunny, I also have been charged the wrong amount, I have emailed you in the last 10 mins with my order details, order number WW1611210500545551. please advise?

  • +2

Grabbed the torch without realising that the battery is going to cost as much as the torch lol

    • +2

It's ok, you can always pick up the batteries for cheap when gearbest do the ozbargain 11th birthday sale lol

  • +6

Yeesh, this is an absolute Trainwreck. I'm glad I didn't bother trying to "win" something.

  • +1

Mods have been very busy with this post. Never seen this many mod replies or activity.

  • +4

I'm pretty astounded by some of the comments on this thread. You can see the deal didn't go as planned however people downright accusing mods of being bribed or not caring about users. I'm sure the mod team understand that without users they don't have a site, they have communicated with GearBest expectations about refunds and drawn a line in the sand. They have also left clear instructions in main post about checking out without PayPal to confirm total, but people still did that. Not sure what more they could do (other than end deal which people would have also complained about).

Some people appear to be upset that deals went to Russia and Ukraine too, there were no terms limiting participating countries, once again lesson learnt. I'm from NZ though and appreciate deals being made available to wider countries, maybe it's a lesson that OzBargain has a larger market than some users thought.

I'm hardly GearBests biggest supporter, you can see on ChoiceCheapies OzBargains NZ sister site I advocated for their deals to be removed when they were banned on here.
However they appear to have made genuine attempts to improve service - guess their ordering system should be next for an upgrade though.

    • +1

You can understand why the site is being called out though when people are being overcharged, the assurance from GB should be that no one will be overcharged, not that everyone will be refunded, posts by mods on not getting overcharged shouldn't be needed. If GB can't do that then they themselves should be pulling the deal. It does seem they are being given quite a bit of leeway particularly when their track record is considered.

  • +3

I'm actually pretty happy with the way Gearbest has handled this, not every retailer will give you a refund in 10 minutes ater a purchase.

    • -5

Not every retailer knows they are actively scamming you

      • +3

if they are scamming me, then why would they refund me?

  • hi i used the code for the vaccum and its invalid

edt: oh its only valid from 10am lols

  • +1

I have also been charged the wrong amount. Could you refund me please? WWP1611210502014554

    • contact their support.

      • I have done that but they are telling me that I must have forgotten to enter the coupon code. Emailed the rep last night straight after the order with no response as yet. Order has been shipped now so not sure what I can do.

        • many people here have had that issue and received a refund. Message the guy who made the post.
They can't NOT give you a refund.
It charged many people full price even after entering the coupon code because it got used up as they went to payment.
almost did that to me for the first phone they had for $10

        • Rep assured me that all orders that were overcharged would be refunded. I am guessing that worst case for them is that they could just refund the difference between the price and $10 if the item has actually shipped.

        • +2

          @Shaw:

          Rep assured me

You still take anything this company claims seriously?

        • @PainToad:

Yea, I do. I know a lot don't, but I also know that they have been working to get all the incorrect charges refunded. If they had been out to scam or for a cash grab, there are much more efficient ways to do it than this. If you think about it they have a choice between refunding a bunch of incorrectly charged orders totaling maybe a few thousands dollars (And costing them next to nothing due to no stock loss) or getting banned from OzB. That would cost them hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars of sales over a period of time.

        • +1

@PainToad: The fact that me and other users have confirmed receiving a refund is enough for me to trust the Rep.

        • +1

          @Shaw:

If they had been out to scam or for a cash grab

I don't think they are malicious. But I do think they are beyond incompetent and this can be just as bad.

        • @TheClipIt:
I'm still waiting for a response from GB. I'm sure they will get back to me as soon as they can.

        • +1

@0xFFFF: Try the live chat on gearbest.com

        • @TheClipIt:
Thanks for the suggestion. I spoke to one of the people there. They were fast and friendly.
I've been informed that the issue is being resolved and I should see an email.

        • @0xFFFF:
For the record - Issue solved.

    • I am still yet to hear back from anyone regarding a refund. Have tried online chat, PM'd the rep through here and also emailed him. I raised a ticket on their website. No luck resolving the problem.

  • These deals are great….but it REALLY sucks that the good items are all being bought by the same two Ukraine and Russia.
    But its whatever.
Not about do neg rep a post just because the stocks selling out fast. :]

      sock puppet?

      • sorry..what?

Apologies if you're not, but the linguistics used were just similar…

        • @blehgg:
I haven't even given the deal a rep.
I work at a childrens home doing i.t. work lol. Not at some chinese based store.

While there should be a checkout system in place that never allows an order to progress without warning when a coupon has failed to be applied it appears that many people have not followed the instructions set about in the title post and elsewhere in this thread.

Mods Perhaps list the steps in large bold colored lettering right at the top of the post so people have a reduced chance of missing them.

    Something like:

Step 1) Add Item to your cart

Step 2) Apply the coupon code

Step 3) If coupon successfully applies discount ONLY click on the PROCEED TO CHECKOUT button

IMPORTANT!!!! Do NOT click on the CHECK OUT WITH PAYPAL BUTTON (http://css.gearbest.com/imagecache/GB2/images/styleimg/paypa…)

Step 4) On the next page CHOOSE YOUR SHIPPING OPTIONS and click the PLACE YOUR ORDER button

Step 5) If Paypal is your payment method you will be taken to a Paypal Login.

Step 6) After Login MAKE SURE the DISCOUNT is STILL APPLIED!!!

Step 7) Only then place your order

Step 8) If the discount is not still applied YOU have missed out DO NOT PROCEED further with the transaction!

Step 9) Go Back into your Gearbest login Account Click on your orders Tab

Step 10) You will see an order waiting for payment either cancel it now or it will auto cancel after 24 hours.

    • Sweet, I'll copy this in place of what I added to the OP, see if that helps. Cheers.

    • Good on you.

  • -1

So I have applied the coupon code and the price is not the listed $10 deal and it's actually even more expensive then the flash deal currently for all the products today.

    • It starts at 10am dude.

      • oh thanks

  • The coupon OZBAlf doesn't work. It says : Coupon can only be used from 2016-11-21 to 2016-12-18 - WTF ?

    • +1

      10am

    • FFS

      • +1

Replying to see what time my post shows up. I am not AEDT

        • I am in ACST and posted the above comment at around 9.12 AM and this one at exactly 5.07 PM - So this is a good facade. Mention a time the coupon will be active from but dont honor it and blame time. Some from Perth should have been able to place an order at 9 AM.

  • +2

Lol got the vacuum cleaner for the coupon price, but canceled my order, the shipping was $70 dollars…..

    • +2

Mine had a total of $45 including shipping - I hesitated to think if it was worth it and when I decided to continue I missed out lol.

    • +1

This happened to me as well, wtf?

      • +1

Bloody fishy if you ask me….

        • Guessing they offer Free Shipping min spend $XX so after the coupon it charged shipping?

        • +1

@TheClipIt: Wouldn't surprise me, would have been nice to know before the PayPal screen….

    • What was your order time? I submitted my order at 07:00:05 AM but still wasn't fast enough.

    • then you obviously weren't quick enough lol

  • gg - had the coupon, price was $313, clicked out, 1second later, coupon limit reached

    • +4

So you negged but your still trying to score a deal?

      • -1

        Yes

      • people negged because they couldn't get the deal
btw, are you policing this thread looking for neg comments ?
        xD

        • +1

Shows a lot about ones character to first Neg a deal but then still try and get the deal.

          Scummy

        • -1

          @millzy: Your logic intrigues me

        • -1

          @mungas:

Fantastic, the first step is admitting you have a problem.

      • you're

  • shit robot vaccuum cleaner gone in like 10 seconds :(

  • Damn. Missed out on the Robo Vacuum. To the two people that got it, enjoy.

    • if it is any consolation shipping was $46, total paid $56 which is why i probably got it, still a good deal but many must have backed out at that point haha

      • +2

I'd contact Sunny and see if you can get the shipping refunded. The deals are supposed to be $10 shipped it says. I had a similar issue with the earphones (only $1.60, so not a big deal), but Sunny was asking to have it refunded for me.

        • i made a ticket, but thanks i'll follow up with this :)

  • Missed out by a couple of seconds for the vacuum cleaner. Damn.

  • +1

I had the vacuum with the code applied and then on the very next page, the free shipping option disappeared. I know it was definitely there prior to having the code because I checked it but now the option is gone? went from $13 up to $56 with shipping added. What's that about?

    • +1

I had the same thing, Gearbest is very very sneaky.

    • If you check the product page it shows the shipping cost on there, just above the add to cart button. Beats me why they'd choose an item with $30+ shipping cost…

      • More lies from GB, the heading of this so-called deal says "US$10 Shipped".

        • No, that was actually a power user edit, take it as a mistake.

        • @Shaw:

          My bad :/

Though in my defense, I did that edit 3 days ago lol

        • @Shaw:

          No worries.

        • @Spackbace:

Ha yea, not your fault there was one product that didn't include shipping, strange decision on their part.

  • +1

Got the coupon for the vacuum clicked check out and it was MORE expensive than without the coupon… WTF.

  • +5

Got a Mr. Bean teddy for $1!!

  • I just won the vacuum cleaner, it added to my cart for $13, but when I went to check out the price went back up to $200. Now the coupon is expired… Here's a photo I took of the checkout:

    http://i.imgur.com/xogwtDR.jpg

    • it happened to me and also about 100 other people i'm sure. Someone was faster to pay for it than us.

      • yep same for me.

      • I wonder if whoever got it had to pay the full shipping price, in which case I wouldn't have wanted this anyway.

      • Bummer, my internet probably isn't fast enough for the other smaller deals anyway haha

  • +2

Got a bear for everyone in my fam, lol.

    • how can you get multiple bears? I tried and i couldnt get the special price

      • We had our own separate accounts.

  • Hi Rep/Sunney, any update on my refund, order number WW1611210500545551.

  • by the way, i also was able to get the $10 price for the vacuum but the shipping when up by about $47, had to cancel the order.

    • It is still cheap. How much in total?

  • Has anyone used the NeeCoo Bluetooth V4.0 Dual SIM Card Adapter or similar? I currently use a cheap android phone as a hot spot for cheap data, this might be an alternative.

    • The device has network bands GSM850MHz, EGSM900MHZ, DCS1800MHz and PCS1900MHZ. This means you can call, text, take photos and have access to your iPhone contact list, but bear in mind you can't use data.

      An important caveat.

  • +4

I have a strong feeling that the Cube tablet has already soldout. The coupon OZBCube (wild guess) says the coupon has reached its max limit.
