You can get 15% off through Venere.com mobile app:
    http://uk.venere.com/hotel-deals/mobile-app/

Or 18% off at cheaptickets.com but in USD:
    https://www.cheaptickets.com/g/un/deals

    Both are part of expedia.

    • 15 off venere code is expiree it seems

      • this code doesnt work on a hotel I tried which is not included in the exclusions

      • +1

Try MOBVAP5 for Venere (currently working for me)

        • yeh that one works thanks although not for my hotel :)

        • Got excited to use this but unfortunately Venere rates were terible for my hotel/time. Agoda was cheapest funnily enough. Always a circus!

        • MOBVAH8 also works for me

    • Similar to the guys above, we are travelling in Aug-Sep next year, neither code seemed to work that far out. Seems they only allow travel until May 2017

    • With this deal though and cash rewards Expedia ends up 17.5% off

      • But since the code is not listed on CashRewards site, the cashback will be declined?

      • Would be awesome if it works

        • Yeah, please don't think it does from my comment though as I was made aware it isn't the case.

  • Does Visa Debit Card works?

    • Have to have a valid mastercard, and also pay with the mastercard

    • Could try your luck with a prepaid mastercard from a supermarket

  • Thanks OP. Very fortunate not making a booking yesterday and checked OZB before buying online…

  • some MC bins not sure if they require you to book with MC https://www.bindb.com/bin-list.html

  • Wow that's a massive exclusion list. I am looking to book 10 nights at a Starwood Hotel, but will try the other two sites mentioned in the comments above.

Be Warned: It is IMPOSSIBLE to unsubscribe to ANY expedia emails.

Will not use expedia again because of the constant spam. I don't cop this from Agoda, booking.com, tripadviser etc. Just expedia and it is all a little over the top.

  • Nice OP

  • It's interesting. Generally, Expedia or booking can only get 12% commission fee from each booking.
Looks like Mastercard is trying to challenge AMEX or Visa or some fruits to get more market share?

    • +2

They get about 18% from hotels. More if the hotel pays to be placed higher in the results list.

      • I reckon both of them don't need to pay GST and so on.

    • +2

also good to see that Expedia and co are lessening their anti-competitive behaviour

      • Really good to know, but I reckon it cannot stop the trend because consumer are not able to know how much commission fee for each online booking with online travel agents, or even many unaware people think those services are free and fair.

  • Thanks for sharing that, OP! I cancelled my Hotels.com booking and re-booked with Expedia using the MasterCard coupon code.

    • +4

FYI, hotels.com also has Mastercard 12% coupon code (COF12).

  • keep getting "There is some error while retrieving the coupons" with my own cards and MC bins

    • I got this the first time I tried.
Try clearing all cookies and data for Expedia then go back in.
that's how I got it to work

  • Will i be able to get CashReward 5.5% as well?

    • +1

if this code is not listing on cash rewards, then 100% it will be decline.

      • Thanks for confirming. Venere app still works out better for my hotels then (code seems to give approx 13.5% off)

        • Venere doesn't exist anymore :(
          Cheaptickets 18% too

  • Can the code be used for more than one hotel?

  • +1

this one appears to have a long travel period which is good.
some of the others around require this year, or early next year.
    thanks

  • Could somebody ne please pm me the first six digits if a MasterCard? Thanks

    • i thought you had to book with your MC card so this wont work?
this happened with amex one i used before

  • The deal stars u get a code by using the first six digits of a MC to ask for one. This could be different. It's not like the first six digits will compromise anyone's account.

    • Just booked using the code. (Thanks OP). You need to pay with a MC to get the discount.

  • Worked a charm, forgot cash rewards! ah well. Thanks OP

  • expedia.com.au appears to be a lot more expensive than expedia.com. The Australia tax at work?

  • Can you redeem multiple times? Got an entire Europe trip to book.

    • Only once unfortunately, but if u have friends or family with a MasterCard you can use their card to get the code as it only requires the first few numbers.

When ready to book enter the code and use your own MasterCard to pay.

Also a tip: on 2 hotels I booked, the original price was higher than competing websites. After I booked i submitted a price guarantee claim based on the price before using the discount code and was successful on both occasions. They will refund you the difference and also give you a $50 Expedia voucher to use.

(Note you can't then use the discount code coupon as well as the $50 credit)
