    That 1080 price is amazing.

Needed a new cpu, lowest price i've seen for the i7. Thanks op!

    • GTX 1060 at half this price and just half the performance (in terms of fps, but the 1060 already pushes 60+ frames on most games anyway) makes the 1080 pretty amazing value too if you can afford it.

      • I think it depends on the resolution as well, if you have a 1440p and above monitor 1060 might not be able to push some games above 60 fps

        • Yeah if I had a 1440p monitor I'd get the 1080 over the 1060. But for me on a 1080p monitor with an extra 1080p monitor for Netflix and VLC the 1060 easily pushes 60fps+ in most games, some games it even gets close to 144 (for old games of course it passes 144). I have a 144hz monitor but I'll settle for 60fps on ultra.

Although evga is the only company who provides international warranty, I would advise against getting the 1080 from evga because apparently they've skimped out on the vrm cooling causing the card to defect (one even set on fire during stream). It's been a month and I'm still waiting for the thermal pads to be sent out.

Since the prices have gone down somewhat, I'd suggest paying a bit more for another brand and getting it local (820 for an msi for example).

$820 is not bad for a local card

    • +1

I thought that issue was only with the FTW cards?

      • Correct only on the FTW cards, and they also updated all cards built from Sept onwards.

        • +11

I'm pretty sure it's all EVGA cards with ACX 3.0, not just the FTW ones.

          See EVGA's page here.

The affected cards are extracted below:

          GTX 1080 GTX 1070 GTX 1060 6G GTX 1060 3G
          08G-P4-6181 08G-P4-5171 06G-P4-6262 03G-P4-6365
          08G-P4-6183 08G-P4-5173 06G-P4-6265 03G-P4-6167
          08G-P4-6284 08G-P4-6171 06G-P4-6264 03G-P4-6165
          08G-P4-6286 08G-P4-6173 06G-P4-6267
          08G-P4-6384 08G-P4-6274
          08G-P4-6386 08G-P4-6276

The deal here is for the 6183 highlighted above.

It's not just the FTW cards, here's a list of affected models:
        http://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2016/11/3/13510238/ev…

I have exactly the same EVGA GTX 1080 SC Gaming ACX 3.0 card (model 08G-P4-6183-KR) as linked to in this deal, and it seems this card is on the affected list. I haven't had any problems with it yet, but I guess I'll be installing the BIOS update and asking for the thermal pads.

        • +3

My understanding is that all the BIOS update does is increase the fan speed of the card, with the thermal pads being the actual "bandaid" which brings cooling to the VRM.

You should be extra careful before the thermal pad installation, as any temperature monitor would only show the temperature of the GPU core. Your VRM could be much much more than that without your knowledge.

they fixed those issues on cards manufactured after august i think it was.

  • Great price

  • How come you can it for $776? Mine one shows $806.37.

    • +4

$776 is the approximate conversion to AUD if you pay for it in euros with a fee free card such as 28 degrees (Amazon charges a ridiculous conversion rate if you pay for it in AUD)

      • Thanks for your information

  • 620 Euros atm

VAT is removed at checkout to bring the final price down.

      • +1

So they include VAT in advertised price :)

      • Nice find :) 537 EUR =775.212 final price

  • How do you check all the cheapest prices for processors across Amazon regions? I'm looking for a 1150 i3, can't seem to figure out the Euro 127,50 price on a few of them on Amazon France.

    • +1

I don't think theres an easy way to check prices, you'll need to proceed to the final stage of checkout of all US/UK/France/Germany Amazons, as delivery costs will vary by region.

      • Ahhh I see, I'm going to have to spend some time on this. Thinking of upgrading the basic home work computer with at least an i3. Thanks for your help!

      • Awesome, thanks buddy!!!

  • Jeez, another 100 bucks and it will be what I paid for my 1070.

    • +1

Everytime i see these cheap 1080 i start to think about selling my 1070 and jump on one of these. But, all the game i play im getting stable 55-60fps in 4k(COD + Titanfall + Forza). Waiting for some 144hz 4k monitor so i can jump on the next 1080ti :)

  • Damn son, what a great gaming combo. Alone with some monitor from 20%ebay

Pay a bit more for another brand with local warranty. These EVGA Cards are a shitshow at the moment. EVGA's reputation are in tatters as they downplay the issue and provide bandaid fixes which don't address the damage already done (and have downsides). Their cards are starting to literally blow up in sparks/flame. They really need to do a recall and replace the VRMs on the board and fix the cooler instead of pads.

showing 689 euros for me so i take it all stock sold

  • This gtx 1080 is so cheap cheap cheap! But i will resist to see what 1080ti is going to offer.

    • Only prob with 1080TI is it will be $1400-1500aud for at least most of 2017

      • Prices will drop quickly especially considering how the price of 1080 is dropping. Im still happy with my 1070 but at these prices its getting very hard to resist them!

        • I hear ya, have a GTX970 but bought a Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX1080 for $780. Prob will be $650 once TI gets released but USD is on the decline

  • CPU showing as 299.99 euro + 12.49 postage at checkout. Total 312.48 euros. Have I done something wrong or have i missed out?

    • price rose :(
