      • +1

        Agreed.

        My bad.

        • +1

          damn refund?lol

        • +1

@Stahh: i bought it after reading the comment and checking the T&C. misread the AC88u as AC68U, now im having cold feet.

EDIT : i looked up the review and this was released in 2013, felt a bit bummed about buying 3 year old tech, but looking at the actual reviews about it, it does seem quite excellent. my DGND3700 is still working, maybe could cover some of the costs by selling that.

        • @kza2610: yeh I got this to replace my dgnd4000 which is absolute rubbish router modem.

although ill proberly keep just to be used as a modem id assume you will need a modem also.

        • @Stahh: i have an NBN connection, so i have no idea! i was going to google how to set it up when i get it. i wish i could pay someone (a reasonable price) to come and set it up with the best settings for meeeee >_>

I bought it last year . Had a similar $25 cash back offer..never got anything from Asus even after chasing it up with them ..I am about to go to ACCC. So please don't count on it ..

    • Sorry double post ..

is that worth upgrading from almost 2 yr old Archer D7?

    • I upgraded my Archet D9 with AC88u (not AC68U). The range is great. The admin console & the add on features are worth the upgrade.

  • so this can be used for nbn or you need modem

    • +1

      This is router only.

    • +1

Depends on what sort of NBN you have. Fibre to the home it'll work. If you have Fibre to the Node you need something with a modem built in I believe.

  • Outta stock.

  • Decent Router, always some firmware issues but Asus slowly release patches

    • Use Merlin firmware

      • I did until it bricked my Router…lucky it was still within warranty

  • out of stock :'(

  • Out of stockk. This is fast i am waiting for this router for aged already

    • This is kind of overprice. You can wait for a better router deal. 2 years ago I bought a R7000 with about $170, which is a same level product with ASUS-AC68U. Similar level router like Linksys EA6900 recently down to $100 and I bought one (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/276373). I think that $100 is a reasonable price. As far as I know, in the past 11.11 shopping event, a lot of guys in China luckily bought netgear R7000 at about $110 and R8000(X6) at $120~130. So I think those router over $150 is not a bargain.

  • Warehouse1 are pretty slow for delivery. Make sure you email them for a tracking number…they forgot to even send my last order until I contacted them

They didn't forget. Checkout the Whirlpool threads on this company…

Sounds like a company to avoid.

Yep that emulates my poor experience, didn't realise they were that shonky!

My guess is they hold zero stock and only order from suppliers when they receive an order. Thus slow/no delivery and them having absolutely no clue. Will never buy from them again.

    • Thanks mate. Just bought it. Same code. Now i can vpn my entire network with ease

      • Howzat?
It's been my experience that going through a VPN slows everything down a lot. Does this thing actually magic it's own VPN?

        • It doesn't… but there are benefits when you VPN your entire network instead of just your PC (i.e. TV apps and etc). And on this router it's dead easy to change back anyway.

        • @educalifa:

Do those benefits include not being as slow as just doing the PC?

        • no it is not mate, the reason it is slow is because you are using crap vpn, check out ibvpn i think they have discount code on ozbargain sometimes before, look it up, their service help me by pass crappy dodo throttle alot, im getting max speed that my current line can support too. With this modem i dont have to quit in the middle of Bf1 match after realise i forgot to turn it on and when dodo throttle kick in it lags as hell

        • @hunterhalo:

Cheers. I've tried a few over the years. The latest one is AIRVPN? I'll check out ibvpn when I get a chance. :)

        • @EightImmortals:

ps, looks like ibvpn are having a black Friday to Cyber Monday 69% sale too.

    • forgot to mention you should post your link on main page or at least update your link in this post since it is the same product

      • Take the deal. You will not regret it. They have trial too. Use it and see if it fit your need. Ah one thing i forgot to mention. I live in melbourne. Normally i connect to syd or mel server. You dont have to connect to some server so so far away though especially for daily use. And the masking affect is the same.

      • Wasn't my deal posting to update, but yeah possibly should have created a new post for it. Back to old pricing now in any case. I also grabbed one!

Glad I didn't order from stores like Futu Online and Wireless1

At least if you ordered from them you would have half a chance of getting what you ordered and not have to try and chase up a refund for ages.

    • I posted this deal after checking their eBay feedback which is over 99.5% so to be honest, giving a negative is harsh.

You may have had a bad experience, but I received my router on Friday for which I was provided a tracking number. No complaints at all. So yes, I'm happy I didn't pay what you would have paid for greedy Futu Online.

      • my item arrived on due date although no tracking or sent notification from them overall very happy

  • Know a guy who works as an NBN Tech. He loves getting jobs where people plug this in and it blocks the port or something like that. Easy money.

    • What do you mean?

      • +1

The modem blocks the port I think. So they send a tech to investigate. It's a simple fix

        • Oh really. Thanks for that info. I've got Optus cable & the 88U and haven't had any problems so far.

        • +1

@Ronney: For cable it's no dramas, just when you use it for fttn. Might not be able to.

        • @ZubatRingo: Thanks for the info. Something to keep in mind for the future.

  • arrived today as estimated :)

    • was your order basically , unpackaged except for the invoice stuck on the box? I was very surprised to find mine had no.. 'envelope' or separate box! lucky the Auspost ppl handling my delivery were honest, or didnt feel like they needed a router!

      • yep you new what was in the box

  • Don't they have a store in Melbourne CBD?

  • Received the tracking information!
