  • Same price at Woolies this week.

  • Better when 7-11 do their special for $1
I think I'll wait for that again to stock up on cheap data

    • Is there a link for that?

No link, He/She is waiting/hoping for that deal. it's $1 at Auspost with a purchase of unlocked phone.

        • Opps

  • The $30 Optus SIMs are $10 at Officeworks too. Good deal if you want the unlimited phone calls and texts for the month.

Better to buy from Optus ebay with cashback.

A whole $1 cash back hey.

        • Better than nothing and can be combined with this for new sign ups.

      • Optus eBay says they must be registered within 30 days of purchase. Ones from physical stores don't mention this restriction at all. I was able to register a Coles bought one after more than 30 days.

The SIM packs in my local woolies all have an activate-within-30-days-or-else sticker on the front. The cashier made a big deal of confirming that the $10 had been loaded on the SIM once I bought it (just like a gift card). Note, that the SIMs all had an August 2018 expiry on the back.
Sadly, I suspect that this 'activate within 30 days' requirement might be coming to all Optus prepaid SIMs, regardless of the place of purchase.

    • Dont lose the receipt though.. If the sim doesnt work, its really hard to return it without the receipt. They had problems of some Sims not being recognized last time around.

  • I accidentally bought some $10 "international call" SIMS (same optus yellow pack) also $2 each…very confusing.. I got worried that when I came to activate I wouldn't be able to choose it as just a standard mobile service (including ability to port in).
Instinct tells me that its more just a packaging variation and its all good but can anyone reassure? I suppose I just call support if I do run into dramas.

    • You can still port in but it is just what it is, I mean it will be still international pack.

  • Just a warning: These sims are a pain in the backside to use if you want to keep the same number. It is possible to get Optus staff to use the credit as a recharge but the last 2 times the expiry date from 3 cards ago was kept. I let the first one slide, but the second one would have meant throwing away credit. It literally took hours and multiple chat conversations to sort.

I assumed most people only bought these $2 SIMs so they can get $20 off an UBER ride?

      • you mean $25?

      • Do you know if you register with uber with same email and same Credit card but different phone number, it would let you do it?

  • I mainly use these for roaming.

The $1 ones are best as it means either 10 minutes of calls overseas or 20 sms's or 20mb of data.

    • Can I know where you call to as I can call overseas to my home country for about 80 mins with this one.

      • I call from overseas (UK,USA, Europe, Asia) back to Australia.
