  • Battery Type 1.5Ah 18V Lithium Ion

    • The box said 12V but not sure why the details description said 18V ….

      • Somehow I doubt they got the description right, but the box and stickers on the unit wrong. Looks like only room for 3 cells in the pack anyway, which means 12V. Certainly not room for the 5 required for 18V.

  • Which store?

    • I think all store because the reduced price on their web site.

  • Not a bad alternative to the fatter, heavier 18V cordless models.

    • I have no idea about power tools, is it good enough for basic home DIY? I want to get one to put up roller blinds.

      • I haven't bought one, but I strongly suspect that it would be good for most basic jobs. Often I want something lighter than the bigger tools for basic stuff. I've put myself on self-imposed ban on buying new tools, so I probably won't get to test this one out, so I don't have first-hand experience.

      • It'll probably be fine. But if you have to drill into masonry, then I wouldn't think so.

n.b. I have the Ozito 18v drill and impact driver.. They're OK for light duty work. I have something else for the heavier jobs though.

        • But if you have to drill into masonry, then I wouldn't think so.

Wood windows frame, last time I used hand screwdriver found that it is quite hard.

        • @superforever: This drill will be fine.

A tool like this would probably do 80-90% of your typical jobs well. You should be fine.

      • I've still got the old Ozito 12V. It's working well. A tradesman (and friend's relative) was pretty impressed with it's performance as a domestic device. Mine's mainly been used for basic stuff like assembling furniture, installing stuff inside and outside the house, etc

First of my 2 batteries just died. 6 years old

        • Is it OK to drill a hole from hard wood? Like Windows frame?

        • @superforever:

I secured a treated pine board, onto the end of a deck. Drilled a few holes (with a pre-drill at a smaller size).

  • Is this a good deal from bunnies?
6 months ago purchased a Triton combi kit from Masters for $49.90
Contained 18v lithium battery, charger, hammer drill & multi tool.
Recently picked up for cheap the triton worklight.

  • Bought one yesterday, it's a 12v Li-ion one with 2 batteries (bunnings also sells the 12v NiCad one for $49), the Ozito website doesn't list this model anymore, they have the 18v model now so I suspect the 12v one is discontinued stock getting cleared out.
This will be fine for the occasional home job and you can't beat Ozito 3yr warranty.

    • I'm talking with someone now. It's a restricted item, so they have a limited quantity sent in and once it's sold, that's it.

One store had problems finding their stock. Another store found they were marked as $79 on the shelves but did scan up at $49.50.

  • 10mm or 13mm chuck?

    • The 18v one I have has a 10mm chuck. So I suspect this will be the same.

    • 10mm or 13mm chuck?

      deleted…sorry, responded to wrong post

    • Keyless

  • I have one of these and it's gutless. Wouldn't recommend it.

    • Not powerful enough to drill?

      • It's ok for drilling in bits of 2x4, or plaster. It struggled getting through PVC pipe.

And the battery lasts maybe 20mins

    • I used the set of this drill + impact wrench for doing my decking.
The batteries charge really fast, on the fast charger, that was included.
Impact wrench is good. Drill is ok for predrilling, but not enough torque to put a screw in timer.
