How good is the 440c steel and what kind of heat treatment do you use can you vouch for the quality of these blades or are they cheap chinese stuff ? interested in purchasing multiple if good quality

These have the highest quality 440c steel. I am not sure what kind of heat treatment is used for these. I have sold hundreds of these on ebay with no complaints with alot of repeating buyers. Buy one, and if your not happy with quality I will give you a full refund. You can buy one to check quality and buy your others after you receive the first one. I ended up grabbing 2 sounds like you're confident in the quality of the blades im not extremely fussy just wanted to justify the price when there's obvious cheap chinese knock offs for $10 - $20 sure they will be fine for everyday use will update once i receive them cheers for the reply

Main reason i asked about the heat treatment was i read its a important part when treating the steel e.g 440c can be absolutely fantastic or it can be absolutely shit house depending on if the heat treatment was done the correct way or the dodgy way

Heat treatment matters, it affects strength, flex as Nd how brittle your blade is.
@mushi: what Rockwell are these, as a knife collector will I be happy with the fit and finish?
Also how strong are the folders, I enjoy whittling and want to know if the hinge will hold up to that use.

Agreed, heat treatment and hardness are very important and are the difference between a cool looking knife that sits on the table, and a cool looking knife that you can actually use.

Perhaps the OP could at least do a simple file test? Believe 440C is air quenched though, so not sure why they'd skip it. Make the final grind harder I guess, but should be no issues with warping, cracks, etc.

Just giving an update i received my knives today shipping was fast 4 days the construction quality is good for the price the steel seems very solid and has a good weight to it and the leather casing is well made and good quality as well overall happy with the 2 purchases the only thing i could really complain about is the blades not being sharpened well i dunno if this is done when shipping or you can't ship them sharpened or something but if you can have the blades pre sharpened for people that overall would be a great product and i would be happy to purchase again when you have a wider variety

Great news your happy with the product. We try not to get them super sharp as that causes import and shipping issues, while others dont want them massively sharp.
We will be getting newer designs in a few months, will keep you updated.

Polar blades aren't horrible for the money, Enzo are decent ect. Helle are middle of the range too.
