Remember, multiplayer is free this weekend until 1am tuesday 6th dec. It is a 37gb download though.

    • -3

WTF? A 37 GB download patch? I'm going to be playing campaign mode offline then!

      • +5

The whole game is 37GB, as he was talking about if downloading it for the free weekend, if you're getting physical the patch should be way smaller.

        • +1

          Cool. Thanks for the info.

      • +1

I bought the Xbox 1 S and tried to copy from our old Xbox One ….had to reinstall gears of war 4 as different install (might be due to 4k) …60gb+ install …… So yes these patches are becoming crazy …..

        • +1

Gears of war 4 is 85gb on PC and I had to download it 3 times as it kept erroring when it was like 93%. When the first patch for the game came out my game had a glitch where it redownloaded the entire game again rather than just a patch. Have downloaded close to 400gb for this one game.

        • +1

You downloaded the entire game, that's not a patch…

        • +1

Xbox One S don't do 4K gaming anyway

        • @Jetship: Haha it was actually an update released but there was a bug where it re-downloaded the entire game. Someone later told me you have to do the upgrade from the store "Downloads" page and it will download the patch properly but if you launch the game and it exits out saying "This game needs to be updated" then that triggered the glitch that re-downloads the entire game. A Windows Update has fixed this issue thank god but this is the wonderful world of the Windows Store :P

        • @Agret: Oh god don't remind me of the shit show that was using the microsoft store to download that game. It gave me an error twice after downloading over 100gb each time. Why is it that every other third party game service on the pc is better than the microsoft one?

    • +4

      $79

It's a video game and you're in Australia; some things don't need to be spoon fed.

        • @jv: Oh I'm not new here, hence why I'm familiar with the famous jv. And also, that post you linked to is still accurate ;)

At any rate, the rules state "POST a clear title including price and location."

          Also:

          Titles should state:-
Product model. May include relevant - but brief - specifications such as screen size.
Price. May include discount or saving (e.g. “$2 off” or “half price) if enough space. However, the price should not include any referral discounts or cashback (commission refunds) - put that in the deal description instead.
Shipping cost. Exact cost if known or approximate range.
          Company/merchant.
Location. City/suburb and state (e.g. Abbotsford, VIC) if specific to an area. If the deal is an overseas website requiring a VPN, please add 'VPN Required' in the title.

I mean, unless I missed something, there doesn't seem to be any mention of stating the original price/RRP in the title. That would be down to the poster's discretion.

  • Any other games' prices updated like Titanfall 2?

  • +1

great price for such a recent release

  • +1

Wasn't this game $35 at Big W not too long ago?

    • +4

1 week ago, it's a pretty good game, would be getting much more publicity if it wasn't released at the same time as battlefield 1.

      • +6

Yeah, it was a close call… but I ended up getting 2x Titanfall 2's for $35 last week.
I figured I could multiplay with siblings, even if its just this week.
And maybe get rid of the game as soon as possible when I'm bored with it, and step up to Battlefield 1.

Apparently EA and DICE went on the record to say that no new games (apart from Battlefront 2) will be coming out after BF1 for some time.
So this game should have full lobbies for a decently long time.
Come to think of it, the Battlefield games age much better than CoD games.
BF3 came out around the same time as CoD MW3, and BF3 still has players.
All the players from previous BF titles moved onto BF3.
Then they slowly moved over to BF4.
After that a lot of players split into Destiny, TC's Siege, and The Division.
And now BF1 has pretty much taken back all its players into the flagship title again.

Whereas CoD players moved onto MW3 from CoD4, CoDWaW, and MW2, except those sticking to BO1 Zombies lobby.
Soon after they all ditched MW3 and Bops Zombies to move over to BO2 shooter + zombies.
The CoD titles after that were all major flops, until BO3 which was rather lukewarm.
So now there's some players sticking to BO2, and Infinite Warfare… but most are on BO3.
I think it's just the "kids" growing up with CoD, have grown up.
And its just too repetitive to the newer generation.

I expect the CoD franchise to do quite crap for a few years until they can do something revolutionary again like the OG CoD4.

        TL:DR

Get BF1 game now, and enjoy it for a really long time : )

Bought a copy yesterday from Costco Moorabbin for $33.97. There's a few left, even the cashier was surprised with the price given the recent release date of the game.

    • That is a fantastic assessment, the cashiers are very clued up.

do you have to join PlayStationPLUS to play all the PS4 games?, I did not pay for multiplayer with my PS3?

if so $69.95/year is a bit harsh for a slow, old, extreme casual player like myself!

any cheaper options / voucher codes?

    • +4

You'll need PSN+ to play any form of multiplayer on any game, which is definitely a shame considering our monthly downtimes and pitiful complimentary games we get each month as a member.

      • +5

I don't get why people gripe about PS+ being bad value complain about the calibre of the subscription games. Assuming you just have a PS4, you get 2 games for $5.80~ a month, which works out to like $2.50 a game, and 9 times out of 10 these games would ordinarily set you back between $15-50 if you were to buy them direct from the Playstation store, or even more from a retailer. If you still have a PS3 kicking around, or you're one of the 11 people who bought a Vita, it works out to like a buck a game every month, so the squalling about bad value or rubbish games doesn't add up to me at all. I think PS+ is actually the best value subscription service I have.

I mean cmon, at $2.50~ a game, they're simply not going to give out AAA titles (even though they have done so at least once this year with NBA 16) so I don't know why people express consistent disappointment.

        • +3

Because some people like myself may only play a couple of hours online in a whole month.

The free games they have are games I mostly already own

        • +4

@bti_jet: Not trying to have a crack at you, but neither of those things are Sony's fault.

        • @IPYF:

i know what you're saying, i'm just saying that's why we don't like paying, if i had more use out of it i wouldn't mind. i bought 2 years gold from previous deal about 4 months ago, ill be lucky to have played over 3 hours online till now.

i have been downloading the games, just to add to library.

        • +3

My issues is that Sony are essentially charging you a subscription fee for what amounts to a very crappy, very simple version of Steam.

I could give 2 shits about the "free" games - which are usually just poorly made indie titles that aren't selling. And you can bet your bottom dollar Sony pays less than a few cents per copy, so it's hard to say PS+ is nothing more than an extra revenue stream.

The whole 'free games' thing I feel is little more than a distraction to stop people from thinking that PS+ is a gigantic waste of money.

        • @shawnsmaggot: spot on, plus most of the games on gold are 360 games which I already own. I just download them to keep on the xb1 console because I'm to lazy to hook the 360 up, plus I don't have the room to keep all my consoles connected.

If it was $20-30 a year with no free games I'd be more than happy to pay and not complain

    • Yeah you do which is a shame since I mostly play games on my PC but need PS+ for the occasional once a month online play with a friend.

    • indonesian PSN has got 1 year subscription for AUD $34.54 now. You just have to create an Indonesian PSN, set it as your primary PS4 and play like normal on your main(aussie) account.

Some PS plus games might differ but the main ones always seem to be the same. Another thing, you wont be able to upload your game saves on the cloud if you play on the aussie account. Dont worry too much about it cause, you can just backup your saves on a usb device with the tap of a few buttons.

  • Nice price, even cheaper than buying it with GOLD "discount"

  • Anyone picked this up at a recent sale and enjoying it?

I, Picked this up for me and a friend when it was $35 and I enjoy it much more than Cod, but still havnt played it too much.

    • I got this during the Black Friday sales. It was surprisingly enjoyable considering I didn't like the original Titanfall PC version. This should have been the original one. I also played the multiplayer last week and found it was more enjoyable than Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. On CoD there is no chance of playing at all. You keep getting killed LOL! Its so competitive. TF2 was at least more casual in my opinion.

  • Is this any good? The first one was a major letdown.

  • Yes great game for the money.

  • Killer deal at this price. Outstanding game!

  • Game is (profanity) dope yo. Pick it up d00dz

  • Do you need to play this online like with the first one, or can you also play in single player mode ?

    • Single player campaign, takes about 6-8 hours

    • Campaign, It takes roughly 4 hours to finish on hard or 7-8 hours on master providing you play fps game frequently

      • Or 14 hours (on Master) if you suck like me and collect all the hidden helmets.

  • I saw they were selling it at EB Games for $99 and laughed to myself. However since they just started their 'extended return period', bought Final Fantasy to try :)

    • Actually its selling for $47 at EB games, but doesn't make for a good EB bashing story though…

      • i dunno, i just went yesterday and it was $99 for new. Not bashing as they are quite willing to pricematch but thought it strange that they didnt want to lower their base price when other retailers are selling for less. I do still buy from EB for points, and the return policy :)

  • Any idea where the cheapest for PC is? Best I can see is $49 from JB hifi

  • Got it from Broadway! They still got plenty of stock.

  • Plenty at Airport West

  • All of Titanfall 2's achievements/trophies (bar one) can be smashed out in a whole work/uni-free week - provided you play in 2-hour sittings each day.

Its multiplayer is where it'll keep its longevity.

  • Anyone can confirm supply in the northern suburbs? Out of stock in epping and south morang

  • +1

    Is available online again…

  • I heard it was different to 1 but still good.

  • It's $37 now. Just lost $2 fml
