    Had the money aside for a house but figured 12hrs in accommodation in the air was better value.

    Just won the select upgrade offer for Business Class on our Abu Dhabi to Sydney leg (14 hours) for $1100 per person. It was incredible and massively helped the jet lag. Our original return journey in economy was just $1050. I would pay $2150 for a return flight with the last leg in Business Class any day.

    Either way, $5892 for Business class is pretty good.
