  • I'm not buying from these guys on principle. They gouge the secondary like you would not believe!! Just a money grab.

What's with the link to Parker's Heritage? It's not part of OP's post.
Are you trying to use the price tag of a single bottle to prove that Nick's is price-gouging?

Not everything in one shop is going to be the cheapest.

OP has gone to the effort of comparing the prices against Dan Murphy's for us to show that the items he's listed are decent. I don't see no Parker's Heritage in his list!

      • Look at nearly any of their expensive bourbon. Parkers. Pappy, btac, Jeffersons, etc. Significantly over RRP.

        • What is RRP for these expensive bourbons?

You might find that these expensive items are priced based on demand rather than RRP.
It says in their listing for that particular bottle that they only have ONE in stock. It might've costed them a lot to get hold of that single bottle.

        • @bobbified: bobbi you need to google bourbon.

Great prices for great scotch whisky. Macallan will become non age statement so the 12 yo only gets more expensive from here.
Glenfarclas 15 also a great drop at a good price.

        • @yogo:

I think bobbi was referring to the bourbons in the comment thread (e.g., Parker's, Pappy). I was listening to a podcast a few months back talking about Pappys and how it was impossible to get your hands on a bottle no matter what the price is. I think given that sort of demand, these prices are not so unreasonable for the right buyer.

        • @krunchy: yea. My bad bobbi

      • you cant compare prices when its single bottle rare stuff

That stuff sells for whatever some crazy rich person wants to pay for it

I've been buying from Nicks for more than 10 years.
They are not always the best price, but they get lots of new release wines at reasonable prices, have a good range of spirits at fair to good prices and have some unbeatable specials like the Glenfarclas 105.

I often buy mixed 6-packs or dozens, sometime only 2-3 bottles, if the price is over $200 you get free delivery on any quantity.

Their service is always good as well, a winning combination for me.

The Glenfiddich 18 yo is a favourite too, when I'm in the mood for smooth, mellow rather than cask-strength and peated.

The Glenfarclas 105 at 60% a/v is pretty hot, I need to add a bit of water, still working through a bottle from August last year when they last offered it at this price.

please note that the 105 cask strength is $105 - but this is a 1000ml bottle! nice work krunchy!!

    • Is the 105 or the 15 year old better?

      • 105 is a beast - this is cask strength, so it'll blow you away!! imho needs a bit of water, but it is the business!!

sure there'll be pro drinkers who'll tell us all how its sacrilege to dilute…!
