Not my fav destination but my suggestion would be to go straight out to Boracay, Puerto Princesa or other domestic destination and bypass Manila city altogether.

downvoted for speaking the truth. there's a reason Manila is called The Gates Of Hell.

complete and utter dump hole. Use it to get to somewhere nice, do not stay in Manila itself.

too many proud Pinoys on this website today, not my fault Manila airport is consistantly ranked the worst hell hole in the world along with your traffic and city

      • clearly you have not been many places but yes agree Cebu is a preferable city and Palawan El Nido is superb.

        • how would you know where I've been based on me stating the facts that Manila is the worst city for traffic anywhere in the world and is consistently ranked THE WORLDS WORST CRAP HOLE AIRPORT EVERY SINGLE YEAR

After being hailed the worst airport in the world from 2011 to 2013, NAIA slid to the fourth place in 2014 — a "slight improvement" that can be attributed to positive votes for the renovated Terminal 3

          well look at that!

Nigeria and a Saudi Arabian airport are now seemingly beating NAIA by not very much due to T3

June to July is the start of the rainy season though.

    • yeah rainy season around then. so keep that in mind if any of you want to go there.

  • For another $100 and 2 hours each way, you could fly on to Hong Kong.

  • Good price if you can handle the budget airline, fly into manila that straight out of there if you can, not much to see in manila

    • plenty of goodies in Padre Burgos my friend

      • It has been $140 return regularly, so this isn't good.

        • when has it been 140 return in the past 2 years? them deals are long gone

        • @nhkay:
I agree. I purchased a $143 return flight in late November 2014. But I haven't seen them for that price since.

  • Been flying to Philippines on 5-7 week trips almost every year on Cebu Pacific since they started as costs a third to half what I used to pay with the other carriers. I do a lot of Island hopping and scuba diving where my worst dive there is still better then my best dive in Sydney.
7-8hr trip with byo entertainment and slightly less seat space isn't too bad to save a few hundred especially once your travelling there on buses its similar circumstances.
Best to get out of Manila and onto the islands and scenic destinations ASAP when you land. Also metered taxi is right at the end of the airport when you exit with all the overcharging private and unmetered ones the first ones you will encounter when exiting. They can charge 5 - 20times what it should cost on the metered taxi which foreign/western tourists that has never travelled there seem to fall for.
