  • Very limited card compatibility from what I see in Australia currently.

    Credit cards only
    Amex and Citibank only

Would not accept my Westpac or ME Bank credit cards :(

Thats why they do these offers.
They want people to put pressure on their banks to put the effort into supporting Samsung Pay.
Most would rather prioritize Android Pay since it has a much larger compatible market.

  • Even bank issued Amex are not compatible. Only Amex issued cards.

  • Thanks OP

  • i just get a blank screen :(

    • Where? Possibly app has been overloaded.

  • Thanks OP

  • How can you use Samsung Pay in Australia? It doesn't show up on the Play Store for me, and if I install the APK from another source then the app gets stuck on the fingerprint screen.

    • Try the Galaxy Apps Store

      • It doesn't appear there for me either.

The app comes preloaded. If your phone isn't from Australia (i.e. doesn't have Australian firmware), it'd not have Samsung pay.

I do remember that to have Samsung Pay running, you need "Samsung Pay Framework" (can't remember exact name as well) installed as well.

      • It didn't come preloaded on my Galaxy S6 - but you're right, I don't have Australian firmware, this must be why. I tried installing the Samsung Pay Framework also but no luck.

        • I think Samsung Pay came with the OTA on mine (S6), since Samsung Pay came to Australia after S6 was released.

I have a s6 edge+, grey import, had NZ firmware so no Samsung Pay. Just google how to load new firmware. I've now been running AUS official firmware and been using Samsung Pay for 4 months no probs.

    • Was pretty simple when I installed (unfort. can't remember how but probably via Galaxy apps as samboread has mentioned)…

  • Once Samsung Pay was activated I had to completely uninstall it before I could use Android Pay again. There doesn't appear to be any way to alternate between the two.

    • Not even via Settings -> NFC and Payment -> Tap and pay and changing the default mobile payment service to Android Pay?

      • +1

I can confirm you can switch between the two. Best way is to have Android Pay as the default mobile payment service, so to use it you only need to wake your phone up and tap. To use Samsung Pay you just flick the card up from the bottom of the screen using the quick access function and it will work.

    • If you open Android pay it should popup forcing you to select it as the default.

Activated the offer and went to coles and got a $1.10 pack of rice crackers paid by 5 samsung pay transactions and got a notification from samsung pay straight away- "our gift to you yadi yadi yada…". Redeemed it for $20 Hoyts gift card successfully, by the way there was also an option for Event git cards

  • I have multiple AMEX cards & an ANZ card. Can i redeem this multiple times?

    • ANZ issued Amex won't mount on Samsung Pay.

      For multiple Amex issued cards:

Probably need to use different compatible androids. I just "experimented" clearing app data and registering again, but my vouchers were already there after resetting. I think each voucher needs a unique IMEI, which means new phone.

      • I thought it may need a unique Samsung ID for each voucher. However if you have multiple compatible devices you can redeem a voucher on each one using the same Samsung ID.

  • Waiting for my new Amex in the post… hoping there is a better deal after this one though!

  • Awesome thanks for sharing! Wouldn't have noticed the offer otherwise, I only open up Samsung Pay for these offers :)

  • Still can't use Samsung Pay on my S6. When I try to sign in, it just repeats the intro video. :/

  • I have the same problem as the last offer. I press activate offer and it seems to work, but if I exit and go back in it asks me to activate the offer again. So it isn't picking up that I'm using samsung pay.

    Anyone else have this issue?

    • I think it's a bug. It happened to me last time but I still received the offer after transacting. Maybe check the status after you've done one transaction (it's meant to show a 'stamp' after each one for the latest offer).

    • This happens every time. If you have done it at least once more just do the transactions.

    • Yeah I've used samsung pay a couple times but it's not registering in the offer. I am using my gear s2 though.

I'll have to try using my phone perhaps.

  • I couldn't get this working with my PayPal Here reader.
PayPal transaction went through, but didn't register with Samsung Pay as a transaction.

edit: might be the above issue. as I do have to keep on registering for the promotion.

  • If your transactions are acceptable you see the effect in your Samsung Pay app immediately after transactions. There are 5 stamp placeholders that would be "stamped" one by one as you complete transactions. If after any transaction you can't see the stamp, then it is probably not working with Paypal Here.

  • How do u guys plan to use the voucher ozbargain way?
