Did they notify you of the shipment at all? Mine is showing as Being Processed still but when I called they advised it was already picked up by Toll and I should get it tomorrow.
I have not received actual notification though so I am wondering if that is what happened with your delivery?i got the date of delivery just over the phone when i ordered. No communication afterwards !

I would say in order of magnitudes better.
The atom chipset on chinese tabs are very limited. 1080p youtube on chrome will lag and stutter. You'll be limited to edge or android if you want smooth experience. 1080p videos through vlc is fine though
Anyone one else got thers? Seems like mines been opened already, stickers have been peeled and theres dirt on the plastic cover :S
You can check the warranty on the Microsoft website and see if it has been registered already, or it gives you the full warranty.
They still have stock so you can contact them about a replacement too if its too used.

I spoke to MS via Live Chat and they are going to amend my warranty. I just needed to send them my Invoice.
Said it will take a few days to amend so I am not sure if it has been successful yet, but will know soon enough.Also remind them that in Australia we have a 2 year warranty unlike the US as they were going to only add a single year.

Weird that they quoted me a delivery of second week of Jan just because I'm in Melbourne…
Mine arrived today and as with krisspy's it was pretty dirty (The box and the plastic) The Surface itself is fine but when I registered it and the type cover, they both only have warranty until April 2017. As these get 2 years warranty I would hazard a guess that these are refurbs. I will contact Microsoft and see what they have to say about it.
Just to update, Microsoft has changed my warranty date now and it expires on the 21/12/18.

Hardware warranty expires: 21/12/2018Type cover has not changed yet, but I will contact them about that next week to see if they will add the extra year on it.
I now think these have just been sitting there in Staples warehouse and MS just put a end date for warranty based on the time it would have assumed they would have been sold, because as soon as I was able to show my receipt they had no issue in changing the date, if it was 2nd hand or refurbed, they would have advised that the warranty was the time left only.
Did this expire? Cos on the website, they still have it in stock..

Told them I was disappointed that I couldnt upgrade to win 10, they said I was exempted from the jul2016 free upgrade deadline
condition was clean and new I could only tell it was registered because the warranty expired mar2017, they fixed that with 2 years warranty same for the type cover

Mine was finally delivered - woohoo. Couldn't see any signs of either products being opened, looked mint. Same issues as others though re warranty so will have to chat to Microsoft.

Just wondering if many others have upgraded to win 10? I'm doing it now and the screen has been blank for quite a while (with a backlight on) and nothing Seems to be happening…Chat or phone for the warranty?

Windows 8.1 is a better interface if you're using primarily as a tablet/touchscreen. Windows 10 is more desktop-centric.
Run updates to get the latest firmware.
already upgraded to 10 - might be true what you said but 10 feels better overall. Which browser is best with the touchscreen? I ususally use chrome but the buttons are so small! Im sure they used to have a touchscreen mode/windows app..?
Metro mode is better for touch as the touch targets are larger.

Seems like metro mode was discontinued in win10. Im very suprised there is no 'touchscreen friendly' browser option…the buttons are all too small for my liking. BTW, anyone know the main differences when switching to 'tablet mode' except changed taskbar on the bottom?@cjb: Damn… I was using Win 8.1 and thought they carried that over to Win 10 because on my desktop there are Apps and then there are programs. The apps seems to be touch optimised whereas the programs are not.
