Don't flip flop around on this deal, just dive straight in, or you'll feel like a fish out of water, once the stock drys up after a flood of flippen crazy shoppers who also fishing for a bargain.

  • You'll need a pool fence for that inflatable kiddie pool.

    Yup.

    Seriously.

    $2000 fine.

Actually varies by council. In my area, council prefers to target compliance rather then enforcement. So in my area council have to issue notice of inspection first. With this deal you would simply deflate the pool. There is no breach. Oh and make sure your bucket, if it is full, also has a fence around it.

      • And if a kid actually drowns in it before you get a council warning? There are reasons these laws exist you know?

        • There are reasons these laws exist you know?

If it's a "pond" instead of a "pool" the law says it's fine. Same shape, same size, same water, but now instantly safe - no fence needed.

Maybe you could just throw in a goldfish while you're splashing around.

        • A place I work at had to fence their pool from their water frontage. The only way to get to it from that side is through the water, all this to say that the rules aren't perfect and sometimes common sense is better.

        • Yep and you cannot fix stupid.

        • So you had it inflated and it filled with rain water. Then it's an act of god.

But yeah if there's kids under 3 around then you probably need to keep an eye on them where ever they are, expecially water.

          Totally wrong

Yep. It's a scary combination when someone is both ignorant and arrogant. Far too common too.

        • @KentT:

Which doesn't apply to this product. At all.

        • @llama:
It was a comment on the absurdity of pool fencing legislation.

If you actually thought I believed the pool laws would not apply if you put a goldfish in there, I apologise.

I personally understand your joke, and the stupidity of those particular (state) laws.

However the problem is that there is a certain readership here who will believe pretty much anything that they read, especially if it's what they want to hear. It is for the information of those idiots that I respond to you.

    • Yep. Last time I checked it was based on being capable of holding 30cm or more of water.

  • Haha.

  • Thanks OP - 10 left on the shelf at Kmart Warwick (WA). No clearance tag but definitely scans at $29.

  • We might be able to bag it for $15 on clearance soon

  • What is normal price? They have a bigger pool with filter for $49 regular.

Bestway Deluxe Family Pool - Obviously written by someone who has never seen a pool.

  • It appears to be their normal price - not on sale .. got one anyway :) = bargain

  • Think this is normal price, but it's still a great deal.

I bought one a few days before this post - and have used it with my little son for the past 3 or 4 days.

It's great for the price and the right size for young kiddies, probably good for up to 3 or 4 years old. Adults can of course sit in there too and it's big enough to lie down in etc.
