HP 500GB SimpleSave Portable USB HDD $89 pick up or delivered to most area for $99!

31

About time I give something back to this community after many great buys….my first post, hope I get it right!!
Offers expires 12PM TODAY, and offer does say it has limited stock but some of you may be able to price match Officeworks selling for $149 and get another 5% off, but I am not sure but either way I think it is good savings even delivered for $99!

Note: Attached software is similar to new WD Passports which can be annoying for some as you cannot remove it but can be a life saver for people who are not so computer savvy like me and just needs it to back-up important files automatically, note if file name is too long it may skip it like the WD's as I believe it is a WD internally anyway.

Happy buying, sorry I wont know how to edit any details if sold out so all the best guys and gals!

$89 isn't a 'bargain' when compared to recent posts around the $60 mark:

Fair enough, it is not everyone's cup of tea but don't shoot the messenger. I bought it without hesitation as I believe you pay for what you get and only used the reputable branded ones, but I guess if you wanted to buy a lesser brand then it is fully justifiable too. Will be great if you can find me the equivalent product for less as I won't mind buying a second unit.

        1 - You're not the messenger, you're the salesman.
2 - That one was Seagate, a much better recognised HDD brand than HP.
3 - And the kicker, same model $85 at Gamedude.

        • So much aggression and accusations, I hope you don't kill someone!
For the record I did not wotk for Mwave.
Did you check the postage and are you aware whomever Gamedude is only accepts your Direct deposit payments to his bank account?

          • +2

@shopaholic32: There's no agression or accusation, just fact. You can read whatever emotion you like into it if it makes you feel better, I'm just correcting your incorrect statements.

You ticked the rep box when posting the deal. It makes that little "rep" icon appear next to your name. It means you're a representative of the store. I'm guessing you didn't actually read what ticking that box meant?

GameDude are a bricks and mortar store that have been around between three and four times longer than mwave (I'd guess about 15 years). You can also get a COD shipment.

EDIT In case you're going to harp on about the payment method options at GameDude, you'll also have to pick apart all the other same or cheaper options: http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=500gb+2.5+usb&s…

          • +2

@shopaholic32: It's usually reps who don't check the boxes and not the other way round. The criticism you are experiencing is partly because everyone thought you were a rep.

            Removed Rep status.

Even if this was a good deal (which it isn't), I would not buy from Mwave "after" they promised to send me the so called "Free" Western Digital Pen which they obviously didn't.

        • +1

What has this got to do with me and the relevance of you not receiving your pen?
This is just becoming a joke.

          • +1

@shopaholic32: Seriously, mate, stop taking things personally.

The deal was at best around the right-ish price. It's not cheap.

And now it's $151 from mwave if you follow the link, and out of stock.

Why are you so upset that people can't see it the way you do?

EDIT Whoa. Now it's back in stock and $89.95. That's kinda dodgy.

        • The pen wasnt that good , but it was free

Hirokuru - your comments are valid, but by that they are not a proper use of the negative vote - please read the rules. Thank you

    • Battler - fair comment , but not a valid reason for a negative vote.

      1. If the other deal is still around you may have a point, but its past history. Again comment fair but vote isn't.

      2. The brands are different and HP maybe considered by some as superior to Iomega. But thats a personal viewpoint, again fair enough but not for a negative vote.

Please read the negative voting guidelines, our use of the negative vote is different from other sites.

yeah I've never heard of Hewlett Packard? Who are they exactly?

And Gamedude… there's a reputable store for you!

And pointing to a sold out deal? Great if you're Marty McFly…

  • seagate 500GB only 69.

    • where ? :)

      • My first guess would be the MLN one that was out a few weeks ago. It is also possible that this deal is no longer around.

  • +1

jeez - way to encourage a new poster to have another go. As for all those people that have never posted a deal, you all jumping down shopaholic's throat isnt encouraging them.

A simple, hey mate, it's not a great price and did you mean to tick the rep box would have done the trick.

    • +1

Thats your way, not everyone plays by your rules , wouldnt it be great if we were all hippies living in flower land la la la

Its nice to have a balanced view sometimes, valid point though :)

    • +1

Well yeah, now that I know he didn't tick the rep box with knowledge that'd be what I'd do too. As it was I was simply believing him, and commenting on the statement he made in that context. Should I always assume people are lying and ask them if they are? I just trusted the guy…

For the record the only reason for my neg is that there are equivalent prices at multiple stores, cheaper at some including that exact model. That's it. I could care less about rep status, or that he thinks HP is a better HDD brand than Seagate (even though the HP probably has a Seagate/Hitachi/WD/Samsung within it's casing). That's kind of irrelevant to me - I don't care where the deals come from or your subjective view of what brand is better.

It's cheaper or the same price at dozens of places. I personally don't want to encourage that kind of deal.

EDIT By the way, from what I can tell it's $10 delivery to post codes starting with 2 only. Starting with 3, 4, 5, or 6 and in the metro area it's $16.65.

  • OK I get it I stuff up and ticked the wrong box, I thought I was trying to helpful obviously not, so apologies to those.
Thank you for all of those who pointed my mistakes and corrected me objectively rather than trying to crucify me as I did say that this was only my first post and sadly the last one too, from now on I'd rather be a parasite than to try and contribute as it seems more acceptable in this forum.

    • You were trying to be helpful, I assume.

So are Scientologists. Doesn't mean they're right :P

I'm sorry you take my opinion, which I try to keep as objective as possible, as some kind of demand you never post again. You chose a product that maybe you wouldn't have if you'd followed posting guidelines and checked the relevant price comparison website (staticice).

Do I want you to never post again? Of course not. Do I want you to check whether something is worth posting before you post it? Yeah, I'd prefer that.
