Dont waste the $6. The sound quality is crap.

"When a mobile device is placed on top of the speaker, it 'magically' amplifies the sound without any configuration."

Like a resonance box? What do the AA batteries do? I can only assume they produce the magic.

    • the battery will make people think this is a powerful and expensive device

It's detecting via induction the electrical action of your phone speaker, and presumably amplifying the shit out of that and whatever interference it also picks up.

So not magic, just really shitty..

seems okay, bargain price but i dont want to create more landfill.
most of people will only use this in the first 2 days then left on the drawer forgotten.

  • For this to work, phone must be on top of the box, so you may just as well use a cable from the headphone jack. Nah….

    • Cable… Pfft, waste time much

I got a similar "magic speaker" free at a work conference a few years back. Does the job and good enough for the beach or small gathering I suppose as long as you are happy to be detached from your phone for periods of time…and you wouldn't be to upset if it broke or was stolen.

As per previous comments, phone has to rest on top of the speaker to work "wireless-ly". Sound quality isn't great and depending on the location of the phone's speaker it might not work unless you move the phone around to the "magic" spot. I put my ipad on it and it works also, but you have to balance the ipad on it as it's footprint is bigger than the speaker. Mine was about the same size as iphone 5 and also works with my Z3 Compact.

So would I pay $6 for one? Maybe.
