  • Looks like a decent price - can get OW to price match too for cheaper.
Pity it has no wireless - need something for the bedroom.

    • Do OW match online only prices?

      • OW do pricematch online prices, but usually add a shipping cost.

So they would pricematch $173 (inc shipping cost)

    • +2

I'm using a Tenda USB Wireless-N Dongle (w311U) with mine. $18 from umart online price

  • Big W Entertainment currently have free shipping for one week, ending July 21st. I don't know if this applies to items like this or CDs/DVDs only.

EDIT: Will not apply to this offer. Bummer.

  • What's the interface like on this thing? I've got an XBMC box running at the moment, but would prefer something smaller, and the price on this looks good for what's provided.

    • The interface is nowhere near as good as XBMC — especially for fast forwarding / rewinding. There is no 'skip 30 secs' feature. It does remember where you were last at though and automatically seeks to that point.

      • 10 minute skip
Press Fast Forward/Reverse on the remote then Next/Prev to skip forwards or backwards 10 minutes at a time.

        • That's good for really long ad breaks :)

    • Check youtube. There are plenty of demos.

    • I'm seriously considering spending a bit more and getting an acer aspire revo.

Can be had from ebay for $339 Delivered. They are really the ultimate box for xbmc, especially in terms of size and power usage.

      • can you squeeze a tuner card into the revo? also, does it have a remote?

        • Use a usb tuner. Regarding remote, nfi

  • Almost cheaper to buy an Xbox 360 Arcade console at this price :) Does the same thing…

    • Can xbox do 1080p movies and optical audio output to z5500?

    • The 360 is limited in what it can play, even with tversity or ps3mediaserver it's not as good as a stand alone media player.

Yay for MKV support. You won't see that on an Xbox….

  • Key point for me is HDMI out, but rather pricey compared to the deals advertised for the no frills version…

  • Currently unavailable online and in store.

    Sold out?

  • This deal is meh.
I got one for 165 at bing lee, just by asking for a discount.

  • If you have an OW nearby I suggest going in and checking what the pricing is - I donno what is with OW pricing… their online pricing, their instore marked price on shelf, and the actual price when scanned can all be different lols.

Cos a few months ago there was this http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/24695
which I then went to price match in OW. But funnily enough, when they scanned it the price was already below $160.55. I think I may have paid only $148 or something like that =)

  • Does this one supports 8Gig file? Fat32 doesn't.

  • got this unit about 2 months ago for 160 from the Good guys… its a pretty decent unit and am happy with it - maybe a gigabit port would be good instead of the 100mb
