    • I agree - it's a brilliant tv: great picture quality. Only thing I would say about it is the viewing angle isn't great but hey - 90% of the time you're gonna be watching a tv straight on anyway.

It also has a very long boot up when you turn it on.

  • Anyone able to tell me the response time of this or similar panels from hisense in game mode? I'm in the market for a good value TV that's fast enough for couch gaming and the hisense seems to pop up frequently as a top end screen, but the samsungs/sony have a history of sub 20ms response rates.
    Thanks.

this isn't any better than 20ms. there is input lag.

Hi do you mind if you post up a receipt so I can pricematch?

Or could you tell me which store you got it at?

      Thanks so much !

        Sorry, just rang daughter
        was 50" 4k
        from JB Hifi for $648.00

        • 50" for $648 is still a great deal ! Could you please upload the receipt? I'll pull the trigger at that price. Thanks! :)

  • I got the 50" model at HN, and with a bit of haggling, got it down to $669. Very happy with it so far.

  • I am very interested in this TV and have no issues purchasing a Hisense. My only reasons in which I have not purchase one so far are because I hear that the boot up is very long (not a deal breaker but can be annoying if true) and the lag when gaming. Anyone have this TV (or a similar Hisense) and would not buy again for the same reasons? Anyone had the same concerns before purchase but find these issues aren't as bad as reported?

    • boot up is around 10 seconds for 50 inch model, it's honestly not that bad for what you get

      • Thanks very much Rogr that helps and 10secs is not too long considering the price.

  • Could anyone tell me if this can be used for gaming?

    • no there's input lag of 20ms+

  • My primary use would be for gaming too so keen to know how these TVs go.

Also wondering what is up with all the price drops on the Hisense series 3 models lately. Are they discontinuing this series?

  • Call me a noob if you need but anyone knows how it does compare to target's platinum?

What about the aldi $499 55 inch TV… More people on ozbargain have gotten that one.

      • I read terrible reviews on productreview, I think aldi gives only 1 year warranty compared to 3 with hisense or platinum

        • My girlfriend has the aldi TV and it is pretty good. You get what you pay for I guess.

I'm just not sure that the platinum one would be that much better.

At least with aldi you can try the TV for 60 days and return no questions asked.

  • I think this deal has expired now. I went to the Airport West JB Hi-Fi today and the normal price is $998. The best they could offer was $848.
