    Watch the video. So much wastage. Insert dispenser into bottle → bottle overflows. Push button to dispense juice → needs two hands and juice shoots out horizontally. Release button → juice drips down.

      its a really bad demo
      Though if they were pouring directly into the cup instead of trying to demo the stream shooting out, im sure holding the cup closer would be a more useful application

      Plus, this is good for people that are unable to hold or pour the larger sized bottle

      I've got one & not the issues you suggest from video.

      Cup presses against switch to activate pump. Only need to hold cup - not use 2 hands otherwise you might as well just lift the container to the glass.
      Release pressure from cup - stops flowing, no dribbles for me. Of course putting anything into full bottle will mean overflowing it, so don't.

      I keep a bottle (of water) inside fridge door, open door & press glass against pump to dispense. Powered by 2 of my many Eneloops.

      Is it a necessity - of course not, just another gadget of limited use.

      I wondered who would ever want one of these, then realised it might be useful in our home, & got one more for a laugh. Now in daily use. Impressed it works so well!

      Adding Chinese plastic device into my drinks is probably unwise. But I still enjoy it as a cheap toy.

      But mainly used by family member with difficulty lifting & opening bottles etc.

    I'm thinking hygiene and food safety. A lot of liquid coating the straw, collecting bacteria.

          Pretty hard to clean a straw effectively, especially if there is sticky debris like pulp.

          There was a baby bottle about 14 years ago where the nipple was effectively on the end of a long flexible tube which went down to the bottom of the bottle. Completely unhygienic. Unsafe. Can not be cleaned sufficiently.

          put device into container of soapy water, pump soapy water out (cleaning inside of straw) (heck, use something stronger like 1/2 tsp sodium perc if you want)
          put device into container of clean water. pump clean water out (rinsing inside of straw)

          seems simple to me, and I clean and sanitise plenty of stuff making all-grain beer

          If someone is so frail that they can not lift a bottle, I suspect their immune system is not robust. I wouldn't risk it. And sounds like a lot of trouble to use a novelty item.

          I have cleaned many drink bottles like you suggest, forcing soapy water through them. After breaking some open to see the bits you cant clean mechanically (or normally see) covered in grossness i am not going to bother with something like this. The effort to clean out drink from inside a straw and pump is not worth it.

          IMO, if you cant get to the surfaces to clean them properly i am not buying it. Kids drink bottles, travel mugs ect. Others can have a different opinion if they wish.

      Definitely. Not to mention whether the materials themselves are foodsafe. But yes, stuff which builds up in there can result in unpleasant health issues.

    Cordial is that size… but if it was cordial, you'd only be pouring a tiny amount anyways which would negate this thing.

    I'd just get a separate large jug for a cordial/water mix or orange juice etc, with one of those tap things at the bottom of it and eliminate the need for the battery operated dispenser gizmo.

      Same the lack of AU power pack or AU power cables is a nuisance …. Using travel adapters isn't a permanent solution and having to buy AU power cable or power pack is extra expense.
