  • $25.80 more for instore at MSY, available everywhere FYI. I only say this as these guys took forever posting an item out with me before.

    • i think Futu Online drop ship from the distributor

    • +1

Personally I'm in no rush here if Futu take a bit longer (hopefully they won't and it will come direct from the distributor as above) for the $25 saving over MSY as I'm still awaiting a local release/stock of the NZXT X62 Kraken AIO cooler. YMMV.

  • Thanks but going to buy local, only $30 saving

      This is local.

Local for me is WA ;)

Intel offer 3 years international warranty for CPUs purchased from a retail store.

    • Good to know.

  • +3

Had a dodgy intel cpu a few months back. I purchased it from Kogan. Thy didn't want to help at all. Warranty was pretty good direct with intel. They arranged and payed for dhl, 6 days later I had a new CPU.

    • +7

Intel's warranty is usually pretty good, especially as their cost price is as cheap as chips.

      • +5

i see what you did there

        • +1

          ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Decent price, but if you can get a 6700k much cheaper, the improvements aren't that significant

    • i7-6700 is $423.20 from Futu on eBay with CSUNNY20 code.

      • +2

And the 6700k is the same price as the 7700k from them on Ebay so a no brainer.

MSY has the 6700k for $455 so to pay the extra $24 for a newer chip seems again an easy decision again IMO.

They must have inflated their RRP for ebay. 20% off and only $20 cheaper than Umart?

    • +1

I can confirm they have. Most items increased by $50. Boycotting FUTU once again for being greedy…

      • They did this for quite a lot of their items. 960 Pro is listed at $76 above RRP.

Even the 7600k CPU is $74 more expensive than MSY, and the 7700k is $94 more than MSY. After 20% off, the savings is $26, and I'd rather deal with MSY for warranty since they're close to my house and they are bricks and mortar, instead of needing to ship it back.

        • +2

Yep they increased their GTX1080's by $50 and their 6900k by $100….Futu=douchbags

        • +1

Same thing with PCByte. There was a brilliant price for the Samsung 960 Pro 512GB during this sale and 3 people got in at $388 shipped before they must of realised and pulled the listing and jacked up the price.

        • @Spizz: Futu has that SSD at $5 cheaper than MSY after 20% off.

There's just almost no good deals even with 20% off. I haven't found anything I want, or anything priced low enough for an impulse buy.

  • I have a 6700k, i don't need this, so tempting though..

    • Not a justifiable upgrade from Skylake

      • Yeah no doubt

      • That 5ghz overclock though :p

        • Well if you're going to sell Skylake eventually now is the time to do it

I have an old system with a Q9550 and wanted to put together the latest tech to keep me covered for a few more years. I personally got it (over the 6700k which I could of purchased at Christmas) because I want to be future proofed for 4K Steaming and the 7700k has the DRM requirements that will facilitate this. Not much of a reason I know but that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :)

It'll also be interesting to see what Optain brings when motherboards and M2's come through.

  • Great deal, thanks for sharing!
Just purchased one for my first build.
