    That model's a nice bush!

  • Any similar alternatives in the $30-50 range? OK with Chinese ones as well?

    • i doubt it with all these features.

    • Backup Battery for non DAB areas

Perhaps to keep the set time (in the case of a power outage) where it can't be derived from the DAB signal.

      • Thanks

  • I have not used a clock radio since the mobile phone with alarms came out….i do still have one of those wind ups with the bell on top though …LOL now im showing my age

    • Some people might think "WTH is he talking about"

  • This being $199 new at Bing Lee. $186 at The Good Guys

No hard preset button on this radio. You have to press one button to bring up the station list or presets, scroll through the list of stations and then press another button to select. Sound is good. Listened to one in store.

  • Any one have experience with this, does this have any static buzzing noise when nothing is connected? I currently have the JBL Horizon but the damn thing has buzzing static noise when nothing is connected to it…

  • Has anyone actually heard what this sounds like?

  • Just to clarify - this is a Factory 2nd product as shown on our website (not Carton Damaged as stated in above post).

The Sony Micro Hifi for $99 was a better deal before Xmas if you wanted DAB. Plus no one wants to go seconds on Bush.

  • I got something similar from DSE (bush DAB clock radio). we're 8kms from Melbourne CBD, on a bit of a hill. they only way to get DAB was to stand outside. That was fine when I was in the doghouse (as I usually am), but when I'm allowed inside, it was pointless. Does it have AM for the times when there's no DAB?

    • No AM only DAB+ and FM for this and most other digital radios.

However the $99 Bush Retro Style DAB+ radio does have DAB+/AM/FM.

If its the Bush Horizon DAB+ clock radio. Looks like it only has a wire for the antenna. Not exactly great for reception.

As someone in this thread suggested. He extended the wire and got a bit better reception. Poor reception can also be due to the location. I find some areas of my place patchy and others provide perfect reception. Even though there is a repeater about 1km away line of sight.

    • Have you tried other brands/models? I've found some models have poor sensitivity so it may not be just your location.

      • A mate had a portable dab radio with telescopic antenna which worked great (He bought it around).

As @g12345567 mentioned its likely to be the crappy antenna.

But its also the rather stupid limitation of dab radio in Oz which limits transmission power because we cant have radio stations broadcasting from city to country. I mostly just used the TuneIn radio, but alas sporting events often ban internet radio broadcasts.

Anyway my comment is just a heads up for people. I was lucky as DSE refunded my money as it was 'fit for purpose'. So check shops return policy before you buy as DAB can be fairly flaky.
