Nice deal but after 750GB for $143 how can i get excited? How?

  • +3

Another thing to note the Transcend has pretty average performance for an SSD… Saying that the price is good & it's still a great option for a laptop etc.

Just don't expect the full claimed Reads/Writes vs lets say Samsung 850.

I bought it from a previous deal for a little bit cheaper and I absolutely love it. The switch from HDD to SSD feels so refreshing.

    • Thanks for that review. was just going to ask.

    • I've noticed no difference going from Samsung to Transcend

    • we really need to be sure that value for money the performace deficit is made up by lower price.

  • i was given an amazon uk gift card and i cant seem to use it and still pay in aud is there any work around for this (my card charges a $15 conversion fee so keen to set the price in aud)

  • Good price for 3 TB. But looking for portable. Anyone recommend something for NVRs? Do they need to be special like internal HDDs?

    • 3tb seagate bus powered is currently $115 at officeworks. Bought one yesterday. The 2tb model is $117 which seems a bit weird.

      • Sorry, but what is bus powered? Is it like the desktop one?
As the HDD will continuously be churning, I am thinking to get a reliable one which is designed to do so like NAS internal ones.
But hope these work fine as well.

That's a waste of money unless you think paying for a marginally smaller chance of it failing is worth it. It isn't. If you own thousands of drives it makes sense because you can hire less people to replace them as they fail.

      • Where did you buy it? Seems to be out of stock.

      • What model and where?

        • 3tb vs 2tb

          2tb is 2.5"
          3tb a tad bigger I believe !

I looked into it for a ps4 upgrade only 2tb would be suitable

  • £95 pounds now less the £10. Price rise?

VAT is removed at checkout to bring the final price down. Sorry forgot to add this to the post

  • £11.39 shipping ruins it a bit..

    • While not as good postage post as some Amazon items it is far more attractive than what we would pay using Australia Post. Still a $40+ saving for most people

    • Why are you complaining about the postage as if it makes the deal less worthy though?

      • -3

Coz it's ozbargain! We shouldn't have to pay period :D

        • Cheaper than Australia Post and at least Amazon doesn't lose your goods :)
I don't get the whole ozbargain should not have to pay postage
seems like a rather daft comment

      • It does ruin it. U can get this Toshiba 480 ssd cheaper and local stock http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/360839061004
        With commit20 only $143 vs $147

  • Having never purchased a harddrive online, how are they usually packaged in terms of padding, foam, etc?

    • +1

its fine, these arent your traditional hdds with spindles, they are more like usb sticks

  • Signs up to newsletter, hopes to get bargains.
Gets newsletter every day, exposed to dozens of great.. expired bargains. Damn it :(

  • -2
