923

MOD UPDATE: Please note that there seems to be a lot of confusion as to when the dollar day deal will become active (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday).

I would suggest that everyone go by the deal posted by 7Eleven rep on OzBargain in the following deal post:

http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/28650

If you happen to drop by a 7-Eleven outlet tomorrow, Wednesday 28th, and the deal is active, feel free to update your fellow bargain hunters here (hopefully there’s something left on the shelves).

  • This time I have to buy a box of mother. Nice deal.

  • +2

Man….. next time I'm bringing a riot shield to block out all the school kids getting in and a whole bunch of deodorant :P

  • wish i had a 7-11 nearby…

  • Niceeee.

  • -1

didn't seem to be any specials @ the 7-Eleven in Hawthorn last night. :(

    • +7

      Key word there is night.

  • awesome!

    kettle chips are a BARGAIN!

  • I'll have another go, but only if I happen to be around a 7/11 early in the morning. Otherwise I suspect it will be a waste of time. I'm sure the tweets are flying around the nets as I write. A mate of mine did get some Mother yesterday though.

  • I bought a couple of sausage rolls for lunch- weren't too bad considering the price.

  • +1

The items that will be available for $1 include: Mother 300ml cans, Goulburn Valley 500ml Flavoured milk, Cadbury Medium Bars, Kettle 100gm chips, Cornettos, Donuts, 4n20 Snack sausage rolls.

One more item will be announced closer to the date.

Funny that they're still calling it 500ml Flavoured milk (it's 600ml) and that they misspelled doughnuts by using a word which is probably trademarked by Donut King.

    • Yeah i thought it was 600ml.

    • +4

Donuts is a generic, non brand-specific word used by many companies- ie the huge US chain Dunkin' Donuts

    • heyy

the 500mL flavoured milks are actually Dare Iced Coffee

the 600mL flavoured milks are there too, Goulburn Valley Dairy Co Milks

  • Is this in QLD too?

    • Location VIC, NSW & QLD 7-Eleven Stores, now including stores in SA and WA

      • Sweet! Is there a limit on how much you can buy? Will they stop me if I buy like 30 $1 items?

        • The signs say limit of 8 items per person.

        • It depends on the location. I've heard some have a limit of 5 per item/total, some a limit of 8 per item/total, and others have no limits.

The one I went to had no limit.

  • This is great I got 20 cans of mother yesterday. I really hope that the mystery new item is something that can be stored for a while.

  • +12

Spoiler: mystery item is Heaven icecreams, all varieties

My local 7/11 accidentally put up the poster for the 30th yesterday, which listed Heavens as $1.

Just my two cents, could be wrong, but I scored a couple of em before they realised they had the wrong poster up and swapped it with the correct one

  • +3

    This isn't fair

I'm buying too much unhealthy food because of 7/11 =(

    • +1

Like I said before, it's the breakfast of champions!

  • I went in yesterday just out of coincidence, and was after an ice coffer. $1 Goulburn Valley, booyah. Got a banana one later that night for keepsies, plus 3 packs of kettle for my mum.
Shame i'm on a diet, otherwise i'd go ape shit on kettle and heaven, in fact pretty much everything on the $1 list.

  • Sweet that's my arvo snack before tutoring next week then :D

  • +2

oh man, i just got 48 cans of mother yesterday, what to do next week, buy another 48 cans xD

    • yeh you can only drink one a day lol unless you wanna stay up all night

  • Aww pity it's the same stuff again. More Cornetto?~!

  • how do 7/eleven make money on this?

    • +4

Their prices on everything else are double what you pay in Woolies/Coles lol.

      • +1

I'm sure they at least least break even on most items, and more than likely see increases in profit on that days average due to increased traffic and return customers.

And 7/11 isn't always expensive. 4L of milk for $5 is good value. Or two loaves of bread.

  • +1

Is this real? The profile that created the event is this one http://www.facebook.com/pages/711-Australia/117971064917936 and the one from yesterday's event is this one http://www.facebook.com/pages/7-Eleven-Australia/13294599674…

    • The 711 site is a fake one.

  • +6

now including stores in SA and WA

    Huh? 7-Eleven exist in SA?
    :o(

Store Locator - Adelaide, SA (5000)
There is currently no 7-Eleven store in Adelaide

    • Pretty sure there is one on hindley st

  • I am also informed by my local 7-11 that it will be heaven.

My local is awesome, they get heaps of stock in (except donuts) and let you buy as many as you want.

I've also never had fresher cornettos than what I enjoyed yesterday. Love that caramel hokey pokey - never had it before.

How do they make money? The companies like Goulburn Valley do a deal with 7-11 for the dollar day deal. so the retailer still makes a decent margin - plus you might also buy other things which have a higher mark-up. Plus the prices are similar to what you can get on discounts in supermarkets (except kettle chips -i've never seen them that cheap anywhere) so its not like there are no margins left.

EDIT: my local says that the $1 day will be on THURSDAY and that they will be selling DARE not goulburn Valley and that the ice cream is not going to be heaven but cornettto again.

    • they will be selling DARE not goulburn Valley

      100ml less milk for my cheapskate $1 D'oh! ;-)

    • Most likely the person you asked is an idiot.

      • +2

Someone said earlier that there was a poster… and confirmed the mystery item was heaven ice cream.

    • +4

Next time ask a real person, instead of the fishes on your "local shore".

      • oh cool, my first almost witty rebuttle.

The mystery item could still be one of those two??? Will just have to wait to find out.

    • There is some confusion with this: A fake event was posted on facebook, listing the day as Friday. It is now falsely saying that dollar day is Wednesday.

      Thursday is the real day.

  • +1

Does anyone know if this promo kick starts at midnight onwards? if so I'll be there 11:59pm with a shopping trolley ;)

  • +8

I'm unable to move from my couch after the last $1 fest. Can someone drop me off 8 Heaven ice creams and 8 chocolate milks?

    • I must admit those milks are awesome! I was saddened when I went back to find all the Wild Strawberry flavoured ones had run out in the evening after trying it for the first time in the morning.

  • That's a good news.

Last Thursday I met one drunk man who told me that's suck, don't buy it while I was holding 5 boxes of strawberry milk. I asked him is Heineken better than what I held. haha just a stupid jerk who does not realize which one is the best deal.

  • +1

Bloody last time I went, everything was swiped cleaned by these fat girls who were still eating the ice-creams and drinking Mother outside my local 7-Eleven. Disgusting sight.

    • +6

Keep in mind they might have been slim, Ozbargainers before finding out about these 7-Eleven deals ;-)

      • +1

I was once a slim Ozbargainer before finding out about and buying all these deals :)

  • so is it on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday? it says Wednesday on the link

    • +2

i would say Thursday, since it was posted up by rep.
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/28650

Also, when I post on that facebook page claiming it is a Wednesday, every time I've tried correcting it to say its the Thursday, it gets deleted. If it was a real rep, they would reply correcting my mistake if that was the case. Also other posts stating it is a Thursday is getting deleted on that page claiming it's a Wednesday.

  • -1

    Wrong day!

Is someone trying to mislead people so they have a better chance of getting the good stuff?

    • -1

Looks like it. All comments correcting it to Thursday are getting deleted on that fake event page. Honestly, if it was a real rep, they should be replying to some comments to confirm the dates, not deleting the comments themselves.

  • As I mentioned above, the 711 Facebook site is fake (As Asterism rightly questioned). The 7 Eleven one is the official one (http://www.facebook.com/pages/7-Eleven-Australia/13294599674…). I have confirmation from 7 Eleven head office that the day is this Thursday (29th) not Friday as the OP stated and also that the 711 Facebook site is a fake one.

  • viper8548: If that page from '7/11 Australia' was in fact real, maybe that should be start by replying to some people's post to sort out the situation on what day it is. However, if you look carefully, any comments correcting it to Thursday have been deleted. The fake rep has not even bothered replying to these posts at all.
Hence the event page for Wednesday is in fact a fake. The real event should be from '7 Eleven Australia' on Thursday 29th.

  • So is it wednesday or thursday? wtf?

    • +1

Real date is Thursday. Read the reply towards the end from the fake wednesday event. The fake rep has been deleting comments for anyone who has tried correcting it to Thursday.

      • Deal updated

      • sigh lol
Latest Comments from the "real" event
Jared Bocala: LOL it's on friday! i people are trying to confuse you guys. i work for 7 - eleven
Adam Radovic yeahnahhh, people have called up

anyone here to confirm these claims?

        • Look for comments by <MOD: removed> on the fake event. They say they are the manager of 7 Eleven for the cabramatta west store. Also look at their profile. Also look at some comments now confirming Wednesday date is now in fact wrong.

  • There seems to be a lot of confusion as to when the dollar day deal will become active as we have two conflicting posts here.

I would suggest that everyone go by the deal posted by 7Eleven rep on OzBargain in the following deal post:

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/28650

If you happen to drop by a 7-Eleven outlet tomorrow, Wednesday 28th, and the deal is active, feel free to update your fellow bargain hunters here (hopefully there's something left on the shelves).

I'm updating the deal description to reflect this.

    • I went past my local today and saw a sign confirming the deal is on THURSDAY.

      • Confirmed, I called my local last night, they advised me it was all systems go on Thursday.

  • WTF I thought it was Friday!
was planning on going to 7/11 with the free public transport. :(

    • Damn I was hopinh it was Sydney.

  • Ok going to 7-Eleven to check.

  • Went to a 7 Eleven here in Brisbane (7 Eleven servo @ Chelmer) thinking it was on today, as per this topic which previously had Wed 28th. No go, not on today, asked the guy and he said it's tomorrow (Thur 29th).
Really pissed off, cause i had planned my arvo tea around a $1 goulburn valley flavoured milk. :(
First it was listed as being on Friday (here on OzBargain), then it changed to Wed, now it's actually Thur. Had to go back to the drawing board for my arvo tea, what a disaster! :-/

    • Goulburn valley milk isnt even on special. lol

  • -2

    duplicate

  • They've been playing ads on TV tonight saying it is tomorrow.

    • Yep it should be tomorrow. Just visit http://www.7eleven.com.au/ which now has info saying it is happening tomorrow. The problem stemmed for the fact there is a fake 7/11 representative on facebook causing this confusing in the first place by posting incorrect dates. Even when correct dates are posted by other people, they were deleting the comments.

      • convenient..when you get people dropping in for no reason but still buying stuff heh

  • I'm on my way to 7-11 now!

  • +3

The deal is ACTIVE. Just got back from raiding my local 7-11. Poor store attendant had to bear the brunt of some rowdy teenagers demanding that he process their sale of 4 slabs of Mother despite the fact that it was a 7 can per customer limit.
Heaven and Kettle chips taste even more awesome when they cost only a dollar!

    • +1

Poor guy shouldnt have to put up with that.
If it says theres a limit on the poster, he should show them that or the way out.

      • Every other store says no limits. That employee was misinformed..or maybe he's the only one cares enough to enforce the rules lol

  • I went to 7-11 in St Albans, Victoria.
7:30am and they had ZERO mother cans. Asked the dude at the counter and he said they sold out within 2 hours. I'm sure he said 37slabs as well. lol

So I stocked up on Ice Coffee and Heaven ice-creams lol.

    • I just got back from my local in newport and they didn't have any mothers on display and only a few left in the fridge.

    • how come you get the ice coffee? the staff said ice coffee not included

  • just got a whole box of mother 24x300ml can and 5 Heaven ice creams = $29, the counter lady even asked if those 4 x boxes of kettle was mine >.< Saw boxes of kettle and mother almost filled the store.

  • i read it was on wed, but totally forgot.
checked today and was on got my chips and ice cream very happy.
they do have lots of stock even at lunch!
went to the city store lonsdale.

  • No Dare milk was available at my store (VIC). They said it was hard to get stock so I thought I'd try a Mother since everyone seems to be buying them up here! ;-)

  • bought 24x mother & 24 kettle chips. I really should stay away from ozbargains…
