      • Im not sure where to put them so any suggestions welcome .. i'd like to save then up for flights really but who ? i also have 115k membership rewards on my amex which can also go to asia miles\virgin …

  • I have a mortgage with NAB and get a fee waiver on a credit card. Can i signup for this offer get the points and then get a fee waiver?

  • I applied by clicking on the link from ozb and still haven't received email confirmation after 3 days.

Is there anyone else who faces the same issue?

  • Thought I will post recent experience with this NAB card & its rewards system:

    • Rewards points credited to account within 3 business days after transaction

    • Bonus rewards points (80k) credited to account within 3 business days of spending $2500 on card

    • Transfer to Velocity points (from NAB) took 10 days

    • Tried booking through Webjet using NAB rewards points - this was (and continues to be) a harrowing experience.
1st attempt - Webjet screen showed up 'Error occurred while processing the booking'
Figured may be the mobile number should not have a '+61' in it, changed the number, tried again (2nd attempt), same error message from Webjet.
Figured it may be 'commas' in the address field, tried again by removing the commas (3rd attempt), same error message from Webjet.
Last ditch effort - redid the transaction, still same error message from Webjet.

No booking confirmation from Webjet site, but points had been deducted 4 times from my NAB account.

Called Webjet, they had no clue as the booking had not been completed at their end. They had no clue bookings could be made using NAB Rewards points.

Called NAB, they had no clue that points could be used for Webjet bookings. Asked them to look at transaction history. Resolved by NAB team by crediting the deducted points within 36 hours & advised this should work ok.

Tried booking through Webjet a day later (different PC, different location), same issue! Points deducted from NAB but no confirmation from Webjet. Back on the phone with NAB…!

    • If you transfer miles to Virgin - how come you are using webjet ?
Wouldn't you book through virgin ?

      • I transferred some NAB points to Velocity (separate transaction, that went through after 10 days)

With the remaining NAB points, I was trying to book through Webjet (redemption partner as listed on the NAB Rewards website).

If I use this card to pay to ATO, am I qualified for the $2500 spending? I have to spend $9000 to ATO this month and just been approved for this card recently. Thanks.

    • Already mentioned in the comments:

      Everyday purchases includes everything except:

Overseas purchases (this is strange since it normally attracts triple points)
      Gambling
      Payments to the ATO.

  • Awesome. The 80K points credited within 3 days of spend.

    • Did you need to do anything extra / phone calls for the points to be credited after the spend?

      • Nope. Points credited automatically after the required purchases made.

        • Okay cool still waiting on the bonus points its been 5 business days ill give it a week

  • Had a very seamless application with them - approved incredibly quickly, card delivered very quickly. All impressive so far. Will be happy to leave Westpac and their dreadful customer service.

  • Could somebody please tell me if the credit to your rewards card/nab account is the same or around the same to gift cards
    https://rewards.nab.com.au/financial

Also but I also want to apply for this card again in may if I don't get to $2500 on first card by then can I apply for another(same) card then get 80,000 points on both once I hit the minimum spend?

Edit: also does buying from Apple online store count towards $2,500

  • What do you guys do when the you cancel your card? Do you use all your points before you close the account? If you cancel the card and have left over points do they just wipe them?

  • Has anyone else had issues with making mobile payments through NAB Pay? 4 out of 7 times so far it has failed on me with a message along the lines of "whoops! try again" (and it still doesn't work when I try again). Incredibly frustrating, especially as NAB is currently running ads about how you can use your card before it arrives by post.

  • Does anybody here know how to login to NAB Rewards to see your points? I can't seem to work it out? The NAB Rewards site says to do it via Internet Banking, but when I login to Internet Banking I can't see any Rewards links or options?

    • +1

Login to Internet Banking and go to cards. than click on your rewards card and points balance will be displayed on right corner. It is hideous and they have done a marvellous job of hiding the points balance section.

      • Thanks for explaining :D Came to this thread to see if anyone knew how!

      • When you say "go to cards", are you talking about the 4th tab from the top, the one that says "My cards" (after Accounts, Bill Payment, Funds transfer)?

This is designed so poorly, I still can't find it after your instructions!!!

Got my points last night - just redeemed $420 worth of Coles gift cards :)

Pro tip - if you have a small amount of points left over, you can choose a $10 charity donation for 1540 points.

    • +1

Thanks, great idea, was wondering what to do with the left over points. Now they won't go to waste.

    • You already holding/had any NAB credit card previously or a new customer? How much time it took to get the points posted after meeting minimum spend?

      • +1

        New customer.

Got points about 3 or 4 business days after spending the $2500.

    • How many NAB points did it cost you for the $420 giftcard?

      • +1

How many NAB points did it cost you for the $420 giftcard?

        80770 points:

        • 4 x $100 vouchers = 76920 (19230 each)

        • 1 x $20 voucher = 3850 points

        …and I used some leftover points (1540) for 1 x $10 beyondblue donation

        • Thanks for the break down! I thought I'd convert it all to Velocity points, but your method preserves so much more value! Cheers.

BTW, how long did it take for the points to hit your account?

        • @hashtagbargain:

          About a week

  • I noticed Virgin has a 15% [points transfer bonus at the moment but this card appears to be excluded https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/apps/velocity/minisite…

Can anyone confirm it's not eligible for the bonus points?

    • I can't even see the bonus points :(

      • I think it may be targeted.

could someone tell me how to log into NAB rewards when i press login it says to log into internet banking or NAB connect so i log into internet banking and it takes me to the normal internet bank and I'm still not logged into NAB rewards, i have had my card for less then 1 month, is there a phone number i can redeem for gift cards instead?

      huzefa-oz explained above

"Login to Internet Banking and go to cards. than click on your rewards card and points balance will be displayed on right corner."

  • +2

received my 80k points, probably just go coles gift cards.

  • Received my points too, now trying to find out how to transfer them to velocity ;)

    • Had a look what you can get in Velocity and seems to be a lot of hassle to find something worthy. Any tips? $400 in giftcards look easier.

      • +1

Since I travel a fair bit 40k velocity points are good to me, plus we need to "refund" the in laws some points though can't see how we do that from the nab website.

edit : I had a pop up blocker…(face palm) managed to transfer my points to velocity now just waiting that to arrive. then closing the card :)

A note for anyone thinking about combining this offer and the NAB rewards home loan offer:

Important information if you apply for a NAB Home Loan between 1 April and 31 August 2017.

If you qualify for the NAB Rewards Credit Card offer, then your 80,000 NAB Rewards credit card bonus points, will be awarded within 3 months of meeting the eligibility criteria. If you also apply for a NAB Home Loan between 1 April and 31 August 2017 and meet the eligibility criteria for the 350,000 NAB Rewards Points Home loan offer, you will receive 350,000 NAB Rewards Points less your 80,000 credit card bonus points already awarded.

I just received $450 of Coles Express gift cards in the mail from this deal. Nice one.

How long did it take to recieve your points? Ive been waiting nearly a week

  • Why you guys redeem The points So early ? Wouldn't it have some offer in The future ? Or you guys cancel The card once fully redeem The points ? Just curious

    • yeah was to cancel the card, though I didn't play it well, because I knew in May velocity always do the 15%, I should have waited …as the card isn't cancelled yet :'(

Where to check reward pts? Don't see it in the online banking portal?

  • Just applied and submitted docs, fingers crossed!

  • Anyone compared with ANZ QFF Platinum Card 50000 points If flight domestic multiple times every year?

  • Did anybody get erroneously charged the first year annual fee? Check your statements. I need to ring them up to get the annual fee taken off

  • FYI, NAB allows you to exchange your points to cash and placed back into your account (75000= $300) So you take a hit compared to gift cards.

  • I made two transactions in the mid of May, GIO insurance and AGL gas bill paid through paypal, about $800 together, however they did not earn any rewards points like my other spending. Do they still count towards the $2500 everyday spending?

    • no i dont think they count if your read the pds. many cc now dont give you points on gov bills and bpays.

      • They were neither gov bills nor bpay.

  • Hi guys, just made the spend, but I still can't see where may I check how many points I got within NAB internet banking and how do I transfer the points to Velocity (Virgin airlines)? Many thanks for your help. Cheers.

    • +1

It's designed pretty poorly - as stated above by huzefa-oz:

Login to Internet Banking and go to "my cards". than click on your rewards card and points balance will be displayed on right corner. It is hideous and they have done a marvellous job of hiding the points balance section.

      • yup, I eventually saw that advice above, thanks. But I haven't seen any info how to transfer these points to Velocity? Thanks.

        • Pretty sure you just have to navigate to the air miles section after you click redeem points which is also a bit of a pain but easier than the first bit
