I haven't had to make a claim with Southern Cross yet so my experience with them is zero; however Covermore has been nothing but excellent!
TID on the other hand have wriggled out of any payout, and as such, I have avoided them in the past.
I have already made a set of claims from one trip with Southern Cross (new tickets for connection lost due to delay, suitcase disappeared full of gifts) and it was a very calm and easy experience. When the shit happened I called them and asked to mark that on my contract, so when I came back and made the claims, it was all fine. I've been contracting them since.
Travel insurance seems to be a risky mixed bag. I know a bloke who got stuck in Bali during that volcano ash cloud ordeal a few years back and TID reimbursed their additional accommodation and alternate flights to return. I have used them several times… but never made a claim. I need to book with someone this week though for a trip to U.S. in March…. on the fence (again) about who to pick!!! Anyone got a discount code for Southern Cross?

I've using TID for all my trips for the past 2 years. I've only had to make a claim once (Our flight from Sapporo to Tokyo was cancelled due to heavy snow and we had to stay in Sapporo for another day and a half) and my claim was resolved within 2 weeks after making a claim.
Is there a way to add more than 2 people in the quote?
