Our school has bought their own… They share them between classes… Makes a lot more sense than requiring each family to buy one…
two of our children that go to two different schools (one private, one public) both need one.

Agreed. LCD's backlight transmissive nature isn't a pleasant reading experience and aren't conducive to study - textbooks are meant to facilitate highlighting, scribbles and mental notes as reinforcement aids.
Genuinely interested too. It has to be a standard size ipad or can be even smaller like a mini? Also… does it has to be a ios device or could be a surface or Android?

This ozbargain banter seems hardly worth putting on a post. I have been looking for 2 weeks at least and no stock anywhere and when I find it and let other know I only receive self serving replies from fellow ozbargainers that the item has been at that price previously. I am more interested in it being available in stock.
This is my first post on ozbargain and not sure I will ever post again and will just keep bargains to myself. I posted to help out others in the pre school term hunt for an iPad which most schools require. I know it was available at the same or lower price previously but I am more interested in it being in stock.
Lochie, please put up postings again; some of us really appreciate people making the effort. Unfortunately the naysayers are always with us and you just have to learn to ignore them. My view nowdays is put up the post and walk away, if people aren't happy they can please themselves.

I am a newbee and was a little surprised that JV said that price since November. I have been looking for weeks. There was even a post on ozbargain recently asking why there was no stock of iPad Air 2's anywhere. That is why I posted when I found hem in stock at office works.was a little surprised that JV said that price since November.

Good work for finding stock for the regular price on an iPad air 2 at OWIt would appear people aren't happy with your snarky comments. I don't have a problem with someone posting for a product they think is a good deal; not sure why you think the fact that it has been that price for a while negates the fact that it is a good price - other people may not have seen that is the case and having the reminder is a good thing at this time of the year. My vote is "yah" for the newbie.

Any good surprise? Please don't just do a minor CPU and GPU upgrade and remove the headphone jack and call it a pro 2.
There hasn't been many rumours. Probably because the iPad seems to be off the radar.
I'd like to see proper multi tasking, better app switching than the current side swiping, more icons on the home screens etc. But these are software features and iOS 11 won't be available till mid year.
The hardware is pretty powerful already. I think the software needs to catch up.
