FREE Learn to Code for Kids [7-17 Years] with ACS (Melbourne)

270

CoderDojo sessions are set up and run by technically skilled volunteers with relevant teaching and computer programming experience. The sessions are designed to be informal and fun for children where they are encouraged to help and teach one another, aiding them to become confident in learning their new computer skills.
The ACS Southbank sessions will run fortnightly from 4.30-6.00pm starting Thursday 2nd February*. Currently there are only 20 spots available, so advance bookings are required. It is advised that attendees bring a Wi-Fi compatible laptop and that parents are present for the entire session. It is also advised that families are informed prior that photographs or video footage may be taken during these sessions for promotion purposes.
If you would like to learn more about the CoderDojo program, you can find out more information on the CoderDojo website - https://coderdojo.com/start-a-dojo/

    Hasn't this been posted before?

    Isn't this always free?

This belongs in the forums, it's not a bargain.

        But new year, new sessions

This is always free, there is no saving, so it's not a bargain…

Otherwise we can post things like Chinese New Year Festival, Moomba parade, New Years Eve Fireworks…. Free events belong in the forums, they are not bargains…

Australia needs more of this, get kids into science and tech…

    • Many schools already have it on the curriculum with many more taking it up this year…

      • Agree, love it..

      • sure jv…

Maybe they teach you to "program" a word doc but thats about the extent i've seen from our school system.

        • So you've attended one of the new STEM coding classes at school? Which school was it?
