    Important to note:

This Kogan Mobile voucher is non transferrable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 31/03/2017. Activation must be made before the voucher expiry date.

Didn't it say somewhere that you must use the voucher or activate before the 30th of June or something?

    • +1

It did say 30th June on landing page of this deal on Kogan website. But they must have changed rule of game.

      • +1

Yeah that's pretty shady. Doesn't bother me since I'll be using them up before March but it's gonna piss off a lot of people who bought multiples and are trying to stretch them out for as long as possible.

        • +2

Very dodgy. They even made a typo whilst hastily altering the webpage from June.

"Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 31/032017"

    • new vouchers today say "Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 30/06/2017."

  • -1

Crap. i have bought 2 for my friends who are visiting me in May. i am going to file dispute in paypal.

    • Over $2, give to someone needy
But I agree , they can't do that
      Outraged fist shake 👊

    • +2

Despite altering their own terms after ending the deal, the page says "Please choose carefully as we are unable to offer refunds for this product"

      • +2

I just did my dispute claims.

    • I'd buy one of you :)

    • I'll happily buy both off you if they are not helpful.

    • I'll give you 3$ for one voucher.

      • -1

Just bought it. No longer needed.

  • Anyone know if we can use more than one voucher on the same account to recharge or must we start a new sim?
For those families who bought two.

  • A reminder for those who might need a free sim to port out-then-in in order to use up the two vouchers before 31/3/2017 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/290055

    • -1

Cannot. Kogan uses the Vodafone network.

      • Incorrect. I just switched from Vodafone->Kogan->Vodafone in the last couple of months. Porting went smoothly either way.

        • How long did each port take?

        • @onlyme: About 20-30 minutes.

  • Can multiple codes be applied to the same SIM?

  • I received 2 voucher code but haven't received the sim, will it be shipped to me soon or do I need to order it again from Kogan for free? I don't have any Kogan sim before.
    Any reply is appreciated.

    • They will send them within a week. No need to order separately.

  • Anyone got blank Voucher codes?

My Code isn't there, it just says 'VOUCHER CODE:' - Then it's blank/no code.

EDIT: I rushed through it, I see it now.

    Thanks a million, OP.

When you've got friends like Google you can grab Ruslan by the pu**y

  • Ordered voucher at 1:58pm with a 30/6 expiry. Received vouchers with 31/3 expiry wtf.

  • +1

can we report this case to TIO?

    • +3

      We Should

    • TIO is for people being screwed over by Telcos.
It's a fantastically generous $1 deal ffs. If the date is a bit shorter so what? What have you lost? How have you been hard done by?
I would just let it go.

      • +4

So if they decide to cut the data allowance by two thirds this is ok too because it was only a dollar.
People here specifically bought on the understanding they were valid for 5 months.
I don't want to discourage telecos from doing these kind of promotions but come on
There was a contract in place that we signed up to

        • +1

Sure, I agree but I wouldn't go bothering the TIO, thumping on the table for my consumer rights, for a dollar.

        • +3

@King Tightarse: I don't want my dollar back,
          just the contract honoured

  • +1

yep same here - voucher expiry date 11:59pm AEDT on 31/03/2017

    • +3

Someone should, oversight or not, you can't change the fine print halfway through a sale.
This purchase was my first contact with Kogan and I for one won't be buying from this, frankly shady company, again if this is how they operate

      Kogan's days are numbered anyway
This is its last dying gasp… before

    Kogan Support:
I completely understand. We apologise for the confusion this may have caused. However, the correct expiry date for the Kogan Mobile Voucher is on the 31st of March.

    • +2

I got same reply. Kogan sucks

      • -1

paypal dispute is my next step, if they dont contact within 3 days.

        Kogan Support:
If you wish to cancel them, we have a dedicated Kogan Mobile customer care team that can be reached 7 days a week between 8am to 8pm AEST on 1300 056 426 or by dialing 12612 on your Kogan Mobile handset.

I'm sorry to hear that. If you are unable to call them I can forward this matter to them and they will get back to you via email as soon as possible.

As much as I would like to help, unfortunately, we are unable to access any Kogan Mobile accounts as we only have limited resources and our Kogan Mobile Team are the only one who can cancel your Voucher codes.

  • I received the email saying the items left the warehouse.

But nothing about the tracking details.

  • -4

I spoke to Consumer Affairs SA. They said they would chase it up only if I wrote to Kogan at all known addresses (including 71 Thistlewaite St South Melbourne) and offer them the chance to either honour the deal, or give me my money back.

It's going to cost me $1 to write them a letter, so if they agree to give my money back I've just made all that effort for nothing.

What a den of crooks. They know they'll get away with it. They got a dollar from each of us that we will never use.

  • +2

Just contacted Kogan Customer support and this is what they had to say about changing the expiry dates:

    Hi ****,
After following this up for you it appears that you are correct and our website did initially state the expiry date for the 30th of June.
This was a mistake and the date has now been amended on the voucher product listing to the 31st of March.
As such, I assure you that despite what it says in your confirmation email, you will still be able to activate your voucher after the 31st of March up until the 30th of June.

So I guess they are honouring the initial date for me :)

    • For everyone? If you're in contact can you ask?

    • +4

It is a delay technique. What they have said now will turn into hot air after March.

      • I got a similar email (purchased while it still said 30 June):
"I can confirm that any purchase made prior to the change in the expiry date will have the original expiry date of 30th of June, 2017."

      • And at that point (if you can be bothered) you can raise a dispute with the TIO.

  • +1

Here's the response i received - sounds like if you bought before they changed expiry date, then they'll honor the 30 June 2017 expiry date:

    Hi XXXXX

I can confirm that our website did initially state the expiry date for the 30th of June.

This was a mistake and the date has now been amended on the voucher product listing to the 31st of March.

As such, I assure you that despite what it says in your confirmation email, for orders purchased prior to the expiry date change, customers will be able to activate their voucher after the 31st of March up until the 30th of June.

If for some reason you are unable to activate the voucher, please respond to this email and I will be happy to assist you further.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    • +1

what time did they actually change the expiry date? You could have bought it before the change of expiry date, but in the email it states march as the expiry date. It is really hard to know whether your sim will expire in march or may.

    • may i ask who u emailed?
i log an online enquiry still no reply yet….is there a email address?

    • Inb4 it doesn't work after march and we all get screwed over..

  • +1

Just get onto Vodafone themselves. Vodafone is $40P/m Unlim calls & text and 15gb if your existing and getting another service or 9gb normall for 12 months. i'd rather get better service than to deal with kogan mobile. products are great until you get an issue.

  • +1

This deal is back for new customers at $1 as well. Limit 1 per customer. Got this in my newsletter subscription.

    • +1

Limit is 1 per order, you can go back and order again ;)

  • -6

    normally $49 ? pass…….

  • When it says new users only, does that mean you can only buy it with a new Kogan account/credit card? Or does it mean you can't activate it more than once on the same number?

    • +1

      Port out port in?

    • I just used a different email but I only use it for a wifi dongle. same paypal account as last kogan deal.

      • I think ordering is fine, but activating it you'll to be a new customer.

  • and it is back at 30/06/2017, but likely when you get the email it will say 31/3 like we all got previously ??

    • it is 30/06/2017 this time

      • It was like that last time but once purchased, the email you receive says it has to be activated by the 31/03/17. As per this comment: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4416890/redir

        • I was taking about the email I receive after purchase, i.e. the voucher itself. the

*This Kogan Mobile voucher is non transferrable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 30/06/2017. Activation must be made before the voucher expiry date. Voucher does not apply to subsequent recharges. For full Kogan Mobile terms and conditions, visit koganmobile.com.au. *

      Just received voucher code:
"This Kogan Mobile voucher is non transferrable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 30/06/2017"

      • yep, same.
and with link in comment above looks like previous codes with 31/3 will be honoured until 30/6

  • Thank you, just ordered one :)

  • Does Kogan ever do discount vouchers for recharges? or is it always for new customers only? Sorry for the dumb questions, I'm new to Kogan and Ozbargin.

  • snagged one cheers

  • -1

This deal probably requires a new post,
so people who aren't subscribers to this thread, get a chance at it today

    • +1

Only saw this thanks to the new post! Thank you!

  • +1

I occasionally need decent upload speeds for work, so grabbed 6 of these and will use them just for the data. Or for streaming music in the car. Even if they block me from activating new ones, it's worth the $6 risk. Heck, $6 for 12GB ain't bad anyway.

    • +1

6? It let's me add only 1 to cart. Did you do separate orders?

      • +1

        Separate orders.

  • never mind got my voucher

  • Thanks OP, missed it the other day.

  • How much is it for the following month?

    Thanks

    • +1

      $49.90 /30 days

  • Did any one receive the Sim card from last time?
My plan is going to be expired in 2 days, wish i can get the new sim card.

    • Received my sims today.

  • Got a friend visiting Australia in April/May and I will need to sort out a SIM for them in advance. I'm a little confused about this deal, does it come with the SIM or is it just the recharge? So will I have to find a SIM elsewhere?

    • +1

SIM thrown in. Apply voucher code when activating.

    • The SIM is added to the cart for free when you add the voucher (Total $1). The voucher is emailed a few mins after purchase and you receive the SIM in the mail.

    • I think most of us got a voucher expiry date of 31 March

  • still waiting for the sim, bloody dodgy, when order it say it will be delivered by last friday, am still waiting…

    • I doubt that is what they wrote. In my email they said it would take 2-5 business days to get the SIM to me. The voucher code comes almost immediately by email of course.

      • well, when I click order, I remember it says order by xxx, it will be delivered by friday something along those line, I can't be 100% sure now, keep in mind I live in metro sydney.

        • Yes, and Kogan is based in Melbourne. They probably meant the voucher code.

        • Arrived today as a standard letter. You perhaps took the dispatch date to be the delivery date. Auspost is not that fast and even slower now that they don't deliver every day.

  • +1

Thế promotions is back. I just bought 2.
Don't know why I cannot post new post

  • Bought three thanks

  • +1

    $1. A buck for 12Gigs, 600 hrs calls. Where's the deal?
    Hope they make this permanent.

  • -1

I cannot seem to find the standard price after the deal finishes. Can anyone tell me whether this $1 monthly plan is a permanent thing and not just for the 30 days?

    • For the first month.
What is so hard to understand?
They are bribing you to use them, then hopefully you'll be too lazy to port away to someone else.
      Get it, got it, good

  • +2

I just use them in the iPad for data no porting the number good value.

  • Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 30/06/2017.

  • +1

such a good deal - I want it but I don't need it.

    I already have unlimited plan.
my sister already have unlimited plan.
my other sister already have unlimited plan.

hmmmm…… who am I gonna get this SIM for?

    • +1

Nobody volunteered yet?! Here, get it for me :)

  • Slowest data speed ever
Will take a 2 months to use
    12gb's at this rate
    Thanks SlowKogan

    • Isn't it meant to be vodaphone's 4G?

    • +1

I've noticed that too. Used Vodafone, Telstra and Optus and even the Optus network came slowest in speed test it was still fine. Kogan was like a turtle on a snail back.

I guess you can always leave it overnight to download those… you know… things.

    • Not sure what speeds you're comparing it to but YouTube at 720p + live streams work perfectly fine for me

      • You must be in town near a tower, cause this is the worst speeds I've seen.
In fact nothing at all today since 9 am
