Please excuse my utter ignorance, but is this like a huge iPhone or is it much less functional or powerful?

    • In a lot ways it is like a huge iPhone. But that makes it easier to read, write and browse. Not bad for kicking back and watching movies either.

And the processor and RAM in the Air make it a worthy upgrade from earlier models. The Air 2 even more so.

And judging by all the iPad sales new models will be here soon.

But some people prefer laptops. I do 90% of my job on my iPad. So whatever works for you.

      • As far as I know, you cant make regular cell/mobile phone calls on a iPad, even those equipped with 3G/4G. You can make calls via skypeout or other equivalent service though.

        • Or use FaceTime.

        • @sillywalks: Good suggestion but that only works between iDevices, I was talking more about being able to call any phone number (which is possible with Skypeout over the data network).

the Ipad Air is from 2013… $439 for 4 year old tech seems like a rip off.

    • +3

Yeah, this should be the price for Air 2.

      • +1

We have tried our best to offer this at the best price we can.
We believe that this is still a competitive price given that the Air 2 starts at $729 for the 32GB model.

We are also aware that Officeworks had these at $349, however they were trying to clear old stock that they had at select few stores in NSW. Most people complained about not being able to get stock, whereas we have plenty of brand new stock, and again with free shipping aus-wide.

        • We know and we are not blaming you BudgetPC.
We are saying Apple is greedy in still asking this kind of price for their old-tech gadgets.

    • 3 years and 3 months really… but yeah Apple products generally don't drop in price a great deal.

    • Yes but apple

$349 at office works last month

    • Bought!

    16gb is pretty useless

in addition, schools DO NOT recommend the purchase of 16Gb ipads. Its not enough space for the school apps that need to be installed.

32Gb is the minimum, 64 has more breathing room.

It's funny the site is called "budgetpc.com.au" yet they're selling apple products.

    • PC = Personal Computer.

Apple make computers for personal use, ie. a personal computer.

      • I think he was having a dig at the Apple RRP

        • +1

i think apple invented the pc.

        • I loved it when they made the Beatles records.

warning to buyers: if this comes with iOS 10, then swipe to unlock is gone and it will be a paint in the ass to unlock with double clicking home button… it reduces the way to unlock and lifespan of the physical button.
I would wait for iPad air 2

    • Never really considered home button wearing out

      • I went through so many 3GS replacements due to home buttons, I eventually got Apple to replace it with a 4. The 4 also went through some replacements.

Apple's home buttons are garbage. Why they haven't switch to softkeys is mind boggling.

  • Got one from OW for 349. Runs well but would not have paid 439 for it. Belkin ultimate case is great for it if you want a keyboard and a case and freedom to have horizontal and vertical viewing option while typing.

    • Hey mate, do you have a link for this? I'm looking for one at the moment.

      • Long gone.

  • +1

Sounds like you need to swap the 4 with the 3 Rep and you just might sell some.
