Was looking for one of these last week and found that Big W had them for $75, everywhere else has them for $119
I held off and checked today and the price has dropped down to $50!

Only catch is that you can't buy online for some reason. But the first store I checked (Karingal VIC) had heaps of stock, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.
The tag said $75, but it scans as $50. Plus you have the URL to show them if any issues.

Enjoy

  • Thanks OP. I picked one up and am going to be making some awesome smoked old fashioned (cocktail) first up. Where do we get replacement wood chips from?

Bunbury WA, about 10 on shelf at $75, scanned at $50.

    • +1

You can get dust online. But see if you can find someone locally who sells smoking wood.

    • I'm addicted. I've already made a smoked old fashioned, smoked cheese, smoked rosemary gin & tonic (just used died rosemary), smoked garlic bread, smoked chilli butter and smoked mashed potatoes.

  • Picked one up from Big W Merrylands this evening - about 8 left on the shelf.

  • I have used one now for a few months. It is not as good as the traditional smoking techniques but as a special add-on flavour to a steak, fish, or other meats, it just adds a delightful subtle difference. I just smoke the plate of food just before serving (covered with a large stainless bowl). Takes only a couple of minutes.

  • The only catch is that they give you cancer

    • Along with grilling food, using coal, drinking alcohol, inhaling saw dust, diesel exhaust and plenty more things everyone does regularly =(

  • Adelaide TTP still had a few of these.
They also had the Breville Scraper Mixer (BEM410SIL) for $99 was $350. I think I saw 2 left.

  • Bought one over the weekend at Macquarie Shopping Centre NSW, plenty on the shelf at the time. Shelf price was $99 but scanned correctly. Can't wait to use it next week to smoke some cheese :) One of my favourite cheeses is applewood smoked cheddar.
