Nice! Like Amex it is not allowing gift card purchases but as there isn't enough history with them I can't really say whether or not you can ignore this either. Anyone have experience with this sort of deal and gift card purchases?

    • +2

Well, since terms & conditions are from JB Hi-Fi and not from Visa Checkout, I think they will have more information about every purchase and gift cards will not be allowed.

  • -1

Is there an Amex JB Hi Fi promo?

    • +1

Does JB ever came under Amex offers ?

      • I don't think they even accept it (although you can still pay with it via PayPal).

        • -2

Why would they see what type of card it is? Isn't that half the point of PayPal?

        • @spillmill: that would be the exact reason it was pointed out as an option.

        • They accept it in store but there is a surcharge.

        • @Elijha: fair enough

I was planning to buy something from JB's for $29 today. Wonder if they have anything for $1.

I'll probably just buy in store. Ordered something from JB Hifi online a week ago and they haven't shipped it yet. 3rd time this has happened. They seem to be getting slow with the shipping. Even pickup is slow. Last pickup order I made wasn't ready to pickup for over a week.

    • Must buy online:

In order to qualify for the bonus $10 JB Hi-Fi eGift Card customers must spend $30 or more online in one transaction via www.jbhifi.com.au using Visa Checkout payment method.

      • +1

I meant that I would skip the deal and buy it in store. Getting a $10 coupon doesn't seem as good when you have to wait over a week to get the item.

  • What is visa checkout? I have a visa credit card… if i use that to buy is that a visa checkout?

    • +2

It's a specific type of checkout. Sort of like paypal. There should be a button at checkout that you have to click

edit: that's for online, not sure about in store

    • +1

There will be a pop up asking you to sign in or register when you click 'visa checkout'. The transaction is then directly with Visa, rather than JB charge your card indirectly. This $10 rewards you with email and phone registration and sms verification.

    • +1

you can also add an Amex card to Visa Checkout

Anyone willing to gamble the $10 and test buying a gift card? I remember a few years back there was a similar promotion where it was possible to buy a $100 gift card and get a bonus $30 gift card.

    • +1

More interesting to know is how they check if you actually received and spent the $10 and then return the item in store for full refund ?

    • +7

That deal got me a PS4 :) also used some cokerewards jb gift codes towards it and one from a birthday. My receipt is 3 miles long and has about 7 gift cards on it.

      • +2

        This guy bargains.

How much did you end up getting it for?

        • +2

          Diabetes

        • Think it was about $300 I spent on gift cards and got the $90 Mastercard rebate in gift cards then just used a $50 birthday one and the rest in cokerewards ones so actually was probably closer to 11 gift cards I used haha

I got the Destiny PS4 bundle, game ended up being crap but white controller and console looks cool.

With that $30 gift card with $100 purchase, deal was posted for Norton Mobile Security cashback giving $15 profit per pack. So bought 10 packs (max) for $150 profit plus $30 gift card. Maybe there might be a cashback deal like that?😯

      • Wish I thought of that. I just bought $300 worth of gift cards with that promo for $90 profit :(

Anyone willing to gamble the $10 and test buying a gift card?

      Please read condition 4.

  • +1

No gift cards like jbhifi and Visa prepaid cards, how about iTunes cards? Buy multiple iTunes cards so 3x$30 =$90 -$30= $60 bargain!

      Please read condition 4.

Will buying $30 PlayStation store credit (digital download) be eligible?

      Please read this

  • +3

Might sound silly, but can you make multiple $30 purchases and get $10 voucher for each?

  • How about JB just give me $10 off when I make a purchase over $30???

    • +1

Take your logic elsewhere you crazy person!

      • Your the crazy person for wanting a physical gift card…what a waste of time. Not only are you wasting plastic but you have to make 2 purchases to get $10 off

        • I wasnt being serious.
