    Went to Brisbane on Tiger last week; flight up cancelled, flight back four hour delay.
    Roll the dice taking Tiger, make sure you've afford the time!

      Latest figures show Tigerair has better on time performance (74%) than Jestar (69.0%). Their cancellation rate is comparable to Virgin.

        The big difference though is when Virgin cancels a flight - between major cities, they will have another flight in 30 minutes that they will put you on. Tiger, who knows when the next flight is and if they will put you on it. They might put you on another flight 3 days later.

      I agree with this. They are SHIT.

      Some airports they don't even bother to have staff on hand to help you IF YOU EVER NEED IT. You will miss your flight even if you are there early.

      At the same airport, there are at least 20+ Jetstar staff who will help Jetstar passengers.

      Good luck if you need ANY HELP from Tiger, they won't be there.

        I caught a flight from melb to bris in January. 10 minutes late leaving. NEVER AGAIN. They didn't even apologise nor put us up in a hotel room. I saw this poor old lady who was 85 years. Bastards. You get what you pay for.

        Tiger won't do ANYTHING to help you, in fact sometimes I think they deliberately make it hard to make their flights.

        It's very easy for you to miss a flight because of their bullshit.

    Was keen when I saw this and then realised it's only available if you return on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Tiger and Jetstar specials are getting worse.

      They cancelled my $1 return perth flight once I'd arrived at the airport a couple of years ago and the next flight wasn't until the same time the next day. I either had to miss a day of work, pay $100 in taxi's back and forth and another $150 for a hotel or jump on the virgin flight that was leaving in an hour. I opted to take the virgin flight (as did many others).

      But credit to Tiger, they promptly refunded my $1 for the return flight that was cancelled.

      Never again.

      I should clarify, I don't have an issue with Tiger as such. But I will never book a flight deal where it's structured in a way that you get a refund of $1 for a cancelled flight. They should split the value over both legs rather than the buy one get a return for free.

          Bloody Pathetic, Never flying tiger until they have an exceptionally great deal and more than 2 flights to the same city, They always cancel flights / reschedule etc etc.

      When they used to fly to Canberra, I was mucked about by them so much it would have been QUICKER to drive to Melbourne. Never again.

        They restarted the Canberra <> Melbourne route late last year.

        I have flown Tiger many times and the one time when a flight was cancelled I was put up in a pretty decent hotel for a night with quite a generous food and beverage voucher. No complaints about them from my side.

          At the time I was advised to "leave the airport and go elsewhere" because they were unsure if the flight was even going to leave or not. I just wish there was a bullet train up and down the east coast along the Hume

      You are more likely to get school-holiday deals in the summer.
      Plus, WA (SouthWest even more than Perth) is a pleasant change from NSW' humidity in the summer.
      edit: oops, read it the wrong way. Good luck getting bargains in the school break. Thats the time to plan ahead and use freq-fly points if you have any.

    Note that only the return leg needs to be in the stated date range (and on a Tue or Wed).
    You can leave earlier.

    Flew tiger for the first time on the weekend - Melbourne to Brisbane return.
    $20 each way with carry on luggage as per an earlier special from last year.

    Arrived 20mins early on both sectors and had a spare seat on the way up. Perhaps luck of the draw. Since Virgin took over in 2015 they have improved.

    If the you need check-in luggage, food and status fly Virgin / Qantas….I usually do. If you just need a budget way to get from point A-B and Tiger / Jetstar are ok. It's usually when you start adding all the extras to the main fare where it loses its value and you're usually better off going with the Virgin / Qantas.

    Knowing tiger Half of the return flights will get cancelled and all you'll get is a 1 $ refund,

    DO NOT BOOK Unless it's a disposable trip and can afford to take a chance. They have stuffed us around multiple times.

    USE IWTF to find a better flight. TIGER SUCKS.
