  • Says $399 still on the site ?
Adding to cart adds the discount.

    • Shows $299 on the site for me! Originally saw it in the catalogue

Bought one a couple of weeks ago on the Bing Lee deal here.
    Awesome performance!
The only niggle is the small canister, 'cos this thing picks up so much that it fills quickly.
A real eye-opener on how good battery stuff can be.

    • Second this - I love mine.

    • +1

It only fills up the first time you do each item. The next time gets easier.

      • Also, the battery only lasts 20 min so you can empty the bun between recharging. I got one during the bing lee deal as well.

        • Well, I picked up a V8 so it lasts a bit longer. The first time I used it on this stubborn thick carpet of mine, it took two lines of vacuuming to fill it past the 'full' line. Great way to show the family that i'm not wasting money and that it actually works!

  • I opened the link and it said $299, added it to cart, now is showing $399!!! Ummm…

    • Looks fine in the cart for me. Give it another go. Also sale started today so I'm sure they'll fix it if it's a problem :)

I'm becoming increasingly confused by all the different Dyson models. It looks like this is the 'V6 Slim Origin'. Anybody know whether this is the same as the 'V6 Slim Handstick' as per the previous Bing Lee/eBay deal ( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/290000 )
It appears to be a different colour but I'm wondering whether it's the same otherwise?

    • Yeah I find it confusing as well… Can anyone clarify?

    • -3

The deal you've linked to has a good explanation of the differences. Slim has a slightly narrower motorised head than the standard motorised head

      • He's asking the difference between two "slim" models, which is not touched on in that link. The Origin Slim us blue, the Slim from Bing Lee is yellow. Im actually curious as well, anyone know?

      • As Toretto pointed out, I'm aware of the differences between Slim vs Non Slim. I'm just trying to understand the differences between the different Slim V6 versions. As this is different to the Yellow Slim offered at other places, I'm guessing this would make price matching difficult too.

        • +3

          Fair enough. I misread. Apologies

    • +1

I just spoke with Dyson. This "Origin" version is the same, except missing accessories (i.e. no dock, crevice or multi tool - I think that's what they are called.
So very misleading to call it's original price $399 when the model at that price has all the accessories.

      • +1

Update - I just bought one, and different to what Dysaon advised me on the phone, the box does have the accessories in it. So a good bargain it is!

        • Thanks for following that up for us, thats good news. Makes zero sense though for them to produce and market two versions, which except for the colors, are identical

Correct me if I am wrong, but can't people buy Woolworths Gift Card from "https://www.cashrewards.com.au/woolworths-gift-cards" to save further 5%?

    • Yes

    • Yeah you can do that.
You can also go through egift sellers in the classified section of OzBargain to get around 7% off.

    • It'll be $284 (pick up) compared to the binglee deal I think it was $288 (delivered).

Edit: it doesn't appear to have a pick up option, add $10 for delivery.

Maybe try price matching at David Jones, you can get 10 % off gift cards on AGL Rewards (=$269 pick up) but from experience it took almost two weeks for them to email it to me.

  • What's the difference between this and the original V6?

  • +1

I picked one up a few weeks ago. Awesome little investment. It works way better than I expected.

Found one of these in council pickup. Works perfectly and came with the power cords and adapters. Was from a rich neighborhood so I guess they didn't want to clean it out. Good little vacuum cleaner, don't expect to clean a whole house on one charge though, good for little spills and such.

Pro tip: Drive around rich neighborhoods during council pickup, found loads of tv's and my current 50" 4k tv I'm using now.

      you are a legend!

      You should run the Council.

Did you get Cashrewards and warranty with it as well?

      • It probably has a full exchange program [next council pickup]

    • True Ozbargainer right here - I commend you sir!

We bought a V6 about 12 months ago which h has been alright. But now we find anything larger than kitty litter just gets flicked around the floor by the spinning head. never actually sucked up.
Not sure if the head on the old ones were bad or its just a common issue?

    • Yep, same here. Most of the time you have to drop the head onto the larger item to get picked up, still hit and miss. I usually pick up any larger stuff off the floor first before vacuuming. Must say though its great at fine dust/dirt and dog hair.

    • It's a known issue that the head can get blocked. Disconnect it and look into it with a torch, you'd probably just be able to see a ball of dust or something in there.

To clear it out, make a hook from the long straight but of a coat hanger and poor out on and pull the blockage out.

We had the same issue with our dc38 when we bought it. Thought it was a did. Googled a bit, did all that written above and it works a treat.

      Hope that helps

  • I have to say, i had the dc35 - worked well but was getting old. bought the normal v6 i.e wider head and wow what a difference. def. a good buy in terms of vacuum.

  • +1

    Thanks OP picked up one

  • The 4cm shorter head compared to the V6 standard model is bugging me and making me not buy this

    • Who says size doesn't make a difference!!! 😂😂

  • For anyone still on the edge, I bought one and it's great! Very impressed

  • Would anyone who bought this from BigW please tell me where the crevice tool was in their box? Been over all the cardboard a million times!

    • +1

I just bought one. No crevice tool.

      • Thanks. I went back to BigW today and the customer service person opened a new box - no crevice tool. So the V6 Slim Origin is missing the crevice tool included with the V6 Slim. Oh well, not as if I would have used it much anyways.

  • For anyone who really wants the crevice tool - I was able to get Harvey Norman to price match on the weekend. Got the yellow V6 slim for $299.
