    • You need to activate it for the main and supplementary card separately.

Then you can spend at the store on each card and get the credit back twice.

      • ok. how to activate for the supplementary? i can see "all card" and there are two cards, my main and my partners' card. both have different card number.

but under "offers and places" i can only see
"Offers Available For Card - 01xx1" which is my main card.

took a bullet for the team

    • Cheers!

Ok I got some exciting news! For the RETAIL statement credit:
Boccaccio cellars was happy to manually imput my credit card for my online purchase through their terminals.
They will need a copy of your credit card's though (scanned copy) + a copy of a photo ID. If using card not in your name, just a letter from that person saying they Boccaccio to charge $80 to that card etc.
PM for his contact details - he was very good to deal with and very accommodating.

Kind of similar process to the Hilton prepaid pookings and that other hotel one

I got confirmation emails for all my transactions!

anyone made any headway in regarding whether or not umart west ryde will take split payments?
I've been trying the phone for over 10 minutes. First call on hold and then it hang up automatically after 8 or so minutes now on hold again and i've reached the 5mins mark.

    edit: hung up again

    • You literally can't call Umart from my experience.
I love them and they have great prices but their customer service is awful.

      • Sounds the same as MSY or CPL.

        • I guess, except Umart are fine in store, but I heard MSY are awful in person too.

        • @theguyrules: Not as bad as CPL. Just a a bit slow. CPL takes forever!

Well i just placed a pay on pickup order with them (1.5% surcharge for amex). If they won't let me split payment instore i might cancel and just buy 6x $100 gift cards

      • How did it go .. please confirm

        • One item is "pre order" so im waiting for them to let me know

        • @googoogaga: how long does it geenally take to receiver the pre order ..

      • Please feedback whether west ryde accepts split payment

        • order hasn't come in yet, they did not reply to my email and the phone doesnt work. If not for this deal I would not buy from Umart.

      • No go on split so order cancelled. I doubt giftcards an option due to them saying they have to pay amex a rebate.
Bloke was friendly but the company not responding to calls and emails puts me off

        • "due to them saying they have to pay amex a rebate"

Are you saying they told you they have to pay AMEX the $20 rebate?

        • +1

          @shake:
yes, that is what the guy said. They have to pay amex more fees or a flat fee per transaction. That is why not many stores participate in the promotion.. especially IT stores were the margins are thin.

  • First time I've ever seen Bridgeclimb give any sort of discount.

$20 off is not that much though given how expensive it is. Better than nothing!

    • +1

might be worth buying a handful of $100 gift vouchers though if you have multiple amex cards

  • Can't seem to apply for this deal. Amex Essentials…

    • I had it with my Amex essential

  • Good timing for gwtting your Easter gifts at Haigh's!

  • I wonder if VideoPro will entertain multiple $80 transactions on a bigger purchase…

    • let us know if they do.. might buy TV from them

    • I believe it's one credit per business. It encourages you to shop at 3 businesses on the list.

      • Maybe - but I have 4 Amex cards :)

    • +1

I talked to Video pro.. they allow to pay with two cards.

  • So how can they tell whether I went in store or bought online?

  • Do gift cards qualify for the rebate?

  • Maxed out. No more registrations left for this offer.
    Darnie

  • Yep same here - waited too long to sign up "Unfortunately the maximum number of Card Members have already enrolled in this offer"

  • +1

That is crazy. Amex connect deals used to take days to max out if they did at all. This came and went in a matter of hours…

  • Started today. Forgot all about it. All gone.

  • I wonder how many people registered with multiple cards and those with only a single card missed out…

    • Insert quote about snoozing and losing.

  • I have a question… I missed this offer by one day. So I went back into Videopro the next day and they were nice enough to refund me for the previous day, and re charge the amount so I could get the $20 statement credit.

Now I see AMEX have reversed the Amex offer. This is contrary to the advice given to me over the phone by AMEX.

Has this happened to anyone else before?

  • I was thinking to go to the opera on Thursday, I read the terms and conditions and it says no purchase online or via phone.
Now I don't really want to drive there and miss the seats I want. By anyone's previous experience do they check if you pay through phone or physically on the spot??
    Thank you

  • Argh how did this go active and out of stock when i had a reminder at all. SO ANNOYED… about to buy QPAC tickets and all :@ :@

anyone bought multiple umart gift card?

Went to Umart broadway to pickup order and they refused to accept AMEX. Lady said the machine that accepts AMEX was "for a different business".

  • +1

Did anyone actually make use of this? I certainly haven't…

    • +1

Nope. Just got the email reminding me of it.

Was researching PC stuff last Saturday @ Umart, but was frustrated by a few things:

      • price of items I want (like Masterkeys mech k/board) seems to be way higher than MSY, did Umart purposefully jack up prices because of this Amex promo?
      • price of an anti static strap was $13, its $7 at Comp Alliance, goddamn ripoff

      Offer expires tomorrow!

  • My partner ended up spending $80 at Colonial Food Market.
