Bought one of these tv's Just over a week ago. Ticket price was $4195. Was able to negotiate down to $3795. Not many in stock at the time across any of the retailers. Looks like they have a 4 day sale ending on Monday 13/2. Originally seen on facebook. Current price is $3695. Great TV. Did not see this model when they had their last ebay sale.

9 series uses the same panel that 8 series uses. It has a slightly prettier housing and a stand, but apart from that, they are nearly identical in terms of picture qualities. If you have a $3500 to spend on TV, you'd better wait Samsung's new QLED TV(with improved viewing angle and contrast), new Sony OLED TV(basically rebranded LG OLED TV, but with a different OS) and Panasonic OLED TV(again, rebranded LG OLED, but with a different OS).

  • Plenty of bloat in the RRP and still haggle room at $3695.00

eg $3520 in-store (Sydney) or free delivery to most capital cities here:

  • series 8 is still best bang for buck, you wont be able to notice where the extra $1k went if you got this. better to go up in size or oled

    • The KS8000 has all but disappeared from retailers websites since the Boxing Day sales

True. I ordered mine on Boxing day and received it from back-order 2 weeks ago. If you hang on 4-6 weeks the TV manufacturers will be clearing out old stock ready for the new lines. I have no doubt you would be able to pick up a 65" KS8000 or Sony 85000D series for $2.5k or less like the Boxing day sales. Jabroni and motor89 are right about the 9 series, it isn't worth the extra $1K over the 8. Pocket the difference or look at OLED screens if you want that next jump in picture quality. You never know you might be able to snag last years 65" LG OLED for below $4k in the clear-out sales.
