440

Came across these left at Chullora/Sydney Aldi store reduced from $500 to $479.

Not a bad deal, considering these were from a previous catalogue sale and thought some of us might of missed on it.

Violence against OzBargainers. Australia says no.

Well, he is asking politely, so Bubbleshark says yes.

Do yourself a favour and DONT buy one of these pieces of crap.

      • experience or hater?

  • reduced from $500 to $479.

    Not a bad deal

I dunno about that, but it certainly isn't a generous deal LOL

(about 4.4% discount for the mathematically challenged)

37.6 beads, roughly worth about 1/2 Cowry shell or the foreleg of a standard goat.

    All these 55" and all I want is an 85" 95" 115"

    When does the madness end

Is it too much to ask for a large wall sized 128k xxxxxxxxxxxhd with hdr and a good UI?

    • +3

      And for $500

      • +9

        $479

    • I guess it depends on the size of your room. I got a proper "home cinema" feeling with a 75", but seeing that same TV in an open JB Hifi was a different experience.

How so please do expand and or elaborate

  • Anyone who has this TV can provide any feedback?

    • +2

Bought one on the last sale, the hd channels are fine, normal channels does not upscale very well. It's good for the price if you use it for hd and above content. Not so good for watching normal tv. It a bit slow when flicking through channels. After owning it for 2 weeks, the TV created a desire for a bigger and better tv, end up buying a 65" Sony on the Boxing Day sale, huge difference in satisfaction. It's more of you get what you pay for, the Aldi to is not too bad for the price.

      • Are the colours washed out? I was at Harvey Norman the other day and couldn't help but notice that the FullHD TV was incredibly vibrant and the UHD (Akai? I think) looked awful.

        • TVs on display like at Harvey Norman normally has a high-def video (e.g. blu-ray) being played over and over. So the crystal clear picture on the TV may not necessarily be what the average user will be watching, say a movie from a DVD player.

        • @fyeahm:

I hope you're not the one that downvoted. All I did was report an observation.

        • +2

@syousef: No, I didn't downvote your reply. Just sharing my opinion as well, to help others make their decision :) Because friends I know bought a new TV, and later at home complained the image is not as good as the one at the store (they only watch normal TV and don't even have a blu-ray player)

        • @fyeahm:

That's fine. Happy for you to do that. Have a good day.

You are absolutely right. Bauhn TVs are JUNK !

  • Man, talk about horrible stacking

    • +2

Poor stacking caused by customers trawling through them to find those with original sealing tape.

Not desirable to take one of the "60 day satisfaction guarantee" returns :-D

  • I purchased a 42" and 48" one of these Bauhn TVs over 5 years ago , still have them hooked up to the PC and PS4 and works fine to this day

Amazingly good quality and they were $500 on exclusive wednesday morning sales back then haha

I think they had some HDTV 60" one recently for $700

    • Consider yourself one of the lucky 5%

      • I have 2 42" and 1 48" all still work hehe
        super lucky

Maybe they were better quality back then..

      • I'll accept the apology in here if need be.

  • still hanging out for another 65" deal…

  • +1

I like Aldi, but I'd never trust them for electronics. Have played with some Bauhn/Medion tablets and phones, utter garbage.

    • -1

You are totally correct see my post below.

  • -1

Not a bad deal but probably left over because the limited number of Aldi customers have already bought a Bauhn TV in the past and found out that they are total crap with absolutely no service backup or pasts available.

    • I had a TV with a terrible past previously (drug and alcohol addiction) so this one with no past is a positive from me.

  • Does this UHD TV upscale normal TV broadcasting to 4k or does it only show in 1080p?

  • Been hunting for another one of these as they work brilliantly on my MacBook Pro after changing some settings. Found there were some left at Bundoora and Lakes Entrance (Vic). I got 2 from Bundoora and 6 still left. Price was $449.

  • $8.71 per inch
