  • I have a similar cup to this… the http://www.kitchenwarehouse.com.au/Contigo-Westloop-Autoseal…
Got it from a Harvey Norman Christmas clearance last year. Think I paid $25ish. Best thermal walled spill free cup I have ever owned.

I am not sure how different this one is but at $15 hot damn, I may have to buy a few as gifts for people this year!

I think is "Toggling with one hand to open then closing itself automatically,"

  • Just make sure you treat it as a mug, not a bottle. I've seen multiple reviews saying things along the lines of "This leaked in my bag and ruined everything!" That's why they call it a mug, not a bottle!

So you mean bottle should not leak but mug will? It said autoseal and spill proof?

      • It does auto-seal and is leak proof, but only if it's used in a mug-like way. That big blue button you can see in the photo is the release for the seal. You naturally press it when you pick the thing up, but as it requires very little pressure to do so, the thing is opened by something as simple as laying it down in a bag (the sides of the bag press on it or the other stuff in the bag does so).

It's not a bad design, it's just that people look at it and think because it's closed and sealed that it's a bottle.

          It actually does leak regardless.

Wife has used one for years and the seal (even when new) is not that great. Not a big deal for her, though, as she only fills it with water - but is something that ppl should take note

Vacuum-insulation keeps beverages hot for 4 hours, and cold for 12 hours

    That's impossible…

    • +1

My one certainly keeps my coffee blisteringly hot for at least an hour, then hot drinkable for 2-3, after 4 hours it is reasonably warm and still nice to drink. After 6 hours it is starting to be luke warm. I am not aware of the cold ratings as never used it for iced drinks.

Think of your beverage as Schrodinger's cat.

David goes shopping, and sees something interesting in the kitchen department of a large department store. "What's that?" he asks.
"A Thermos flask," replies the assistant.
"What does it do?" asks David.
The assistant tells him it keeps hot things hot and cold things cold.
Really impressed, David buys one and takes it along to work the next day. "Here, boys, look at this," David says proudly.
"It's a Thermos flask." The lads are impressed.
"What does it do?" they ask.
"It keeps hot things hot and cold things cold," says David.
"What have you got in it?" asks his mate.
"Two cups of coffee and a Choc ice," replies David.

    • Why is it impossible?

    • You're missing the Oxford comma. :)

  • I love these but they are usually too expensive, this price is amazing and perfect for gifts.
The seals are the best I've ever had (check out the overwhelmingly positive reviews on amazon) and teas stay hot for ages, i can't top them.

  • Note: Paypal payment froze on me after the final confirm, but the direct CC payment option (non-paypal) worked.

    • +1

PayPal went ok for me. :)

  • I have one of these and love it. Paid a fair bit more to get it shipped from Amazon before they were available locally. Will keep your coffee boiling hot until lunch, or ice water super chilled even overnight.

For $15, I could use a spare. thanks!

  • Can u pleas confirm if it leaks if kept in a backpack etc I have thrown several brands out inclusive of thermos to find the perfect travel mug.

    • I have one of the older version, and 2 of these newer ones. Leakages occur then the button is inadvertently depressed in transit. With the newer style, there is a "lock" switch to prevent this from happening, so I haven't had any leaks since using the new ones. The sealing mechanism is also a bit better and easier to clean. You don't tend to get condensation on the main (double walled metal) body of the mug, but sometimes condensation forms on the lid portion.

I used one of these for a few years. Tea drinkers beware that unless you are diligent about washing it, tannin can build up on the sides, and then flake off. Once it flakes off it can either go through the spout, for a nice little surprise in the mouth, or jam in the spout and be difficult to clean.

I don't use it any more for daily use, but I do love it for long drives, as it lives up to the claim of keeping things very hot and being a very good seal.

Costco often has two for about $28, so roughly the same price per unit here.

I find that putting the lid portion in a dishwasher every so often tends to blast away all the tannins. Hope this helps.

    ozbargained ….

Their eBay store said 10+ available but have to pay delivery.

  • +1

Dont need it but got one anyway.

  • Good for sipping beer?

  • sold out :(

  • damn so quick…

  • I love these auto seal bottles, better than the CamelBak straw ones. I find that the straw and the spout on the CamelBak bottles tend to go mouldy and are really hard to clean. I even give my kids the auto seal bottles and they know how to press the seal to release the water. There was a kids one on sale on Kitchen Warehouse a while ago and I bought a couple of those. I keep one in my bag as it's small in size.

  • I have one of these. It's great in maintaining temperature.
Better buy silver. Colour starts coming off from the coloured ones. My blue bottle is turning into silver and looks ugly now.

  • I have a few of these, they are fantastic, the westloop 2.0 is much easier to clean than its predecessor. The width fits perfect in my cars cup holders, and the seal has saved spilling more than once. It does a good job of keeping your drink hot if you preheat like you would a thermos, and also a great job for cold drinks. Shame they're sold out, I'd buy another, and I just bought 2 for my folks.

The only down side I have found is that you can splatter yourself if you don't release the button before finish taking a sip, a small amount of fluid ends up external to the seal.
