It's an amex offer and the link to the amex enrolment is in the description

  • i think this is targeted, i dont have anything on my amex offers list.
also i think this is the same offer posted a few weeks ago.

    • I just got the email now with AAMI Offer, HN Offer, Powershop Offer, Woolworths Offer

I could see deal posts for HN and WW but not AAMI

sad coz mine is due this week. would have been handy

        • @PreSsieGuY: mine was due on the 12 Feb and if I got this offer I was planning to pay for next years in advance.

double check quotes against budget direct who are always way cheaper then others

    • Is it only for QLD or Australia wide?

    • As crazy as it sounds, last year I collected a heap of quotes and AAMI worked out cheaper than Budget Direct.

Had a similar result with my car insurance this year, too. I'm starting to wonder if BD are coasting on their name/reputation and ratcheting up their prices.

RACV has always been the cheapest for me. And every year I do a new quote, but still RACV wins. I've read bad stories about BD refusing cover, threatening to write-off vehicles etc. You've only got to read through the whirlpool posts and this and this to see how bad BD have been.

  • Looks like targeted? I cannot see anything on both my Westpac and Amex issued cards.

    • Use the direct link. Does it let you enrol? I've managed to use direct links without getting it in my account.

      • Manual link works now. It was broken before. I can register…. too bad my renewal was back in December…. trying to think of ways to get this hmmmmm

        • Can we pay in advance?

  • And I think it limits to Home Insurance only…I am looking for car insurance at the moment, anyone has good deals?

    • Correct. It is, that's why I copied and pasted the details exactly from the email

      on Home Insurance

We got a quote feom coles? Got woolies to beat them & them coles offered to beat woolies.

      • Nice combo

  • Targeted. Cannot register :(

  • premium of their home insurance doesn't seen competitive in my postcode

    • +1

Premium cost, but not service. Wait until you have to claim. Delay delay delay half arsed repairs delay delay & they hope you'll give up & go away.

If you do deal with them? Make sure you only do it via email. They make lots of verbal promises and then back track.

Yep we were unlucky to be with Aami.

  • non of my amex have this offer :(

  • +1

    Targeted :(

  • Shame it's targeted, have an AAMI bill in 2 weeks.

  • Shame it's online-only. I assume that means new policies only and not renewals?

My premium is due in August, if anyone works out a way to prepay it online please post it here! :)

  • Spend $400 Get $120 Back on Home Insurance

Doesn't make it a bargain if you a still paying more for the insurance than you could get it elsewhere.

    • +2

It'll be suitable for someone (mainly existing AAMI policy holders for car ins etc), but yes you're correct.

      I just did a quick quote;

AAMI: $80k contents only, $2k portable items, $294 after the $120 credit
RACV: $80k contents only, $2k portable items, $280

      • AAMI:
        RACV:

Try one of the cheaper ones too, rather than the rip-off ones…

        • So what's a better option then?

          @TheMasterChief:

So what's a better option then?

          The cheaper one.
