How long do I have to activate these?

    • -

I called Lebara and was told 6 months.
Don't take that as a given though, I've been told the same before (Vodafone) and it turned out to be false.

Called them up to ask. The guy was very polite and professional, which I'm not used to when calling a telco.
He said you have 6 months after purchasing to activate the sim. He also said this information wasn't available online anywhere, so I don't have any written evidence.

Wait so they aren't some foreign call centre that can hardly speak english?

  • So is this just a one month offer, or an ongoing prepaid plan for the $14.90?

    • I think its $14.90 for first month, 2nd month is free and rates will be back to $29.90 in 3rd month

      • No it says Special price excluded from second month free offer.

        • So either:
          1. First month $49.90 and second month free (average of $25/month)
          2. First month $14.90 and second month $49.90

So use this offer if you plan to leave after one month, otherwise the free second month offer is better.

    Any activation times restriction?

    • Called up and they said 6 months from the date of purchase.
Also said the information wasn't available online, so there's no written evidence.

  • Just to check that I'm reading the info right - the free international minutes (I'm looking at calling a mobile in the UK) includes calling mobile phones too?

    • Yes according to their website uk mobile also included

I'm currently using the last lebrara post (the 5gb for $5 one) now.
Got to get through the Optus, Boost & Kogan deals before coming back to this lebara deal, haha.

Just confirming please - is this for everyone, not just new customers?
And has anyone had success porting the same # back & forth to lebara?

  • no Philippines only optus offer them.

  • Any opinions on these guys?
I'm going to be porting my number from vaya to them, so I was wondering if there is anything I should be wary of, like dodgy customer support??

  • Thanks OP. Bought one… Only want to use it for a month ;)

pft. I was just getting used to paying $1

  • Their T&C's on international calls are very confusing; I had to cancel earlier subscription because of this

  • do you have to port your number to them? or can you get a separate mobile number when on this prepaid sim? I want to use this as a data pack

  • +1

I've had really good customer service from Lebara, the last issue I had was porting away from them because it takes a few days for all the billing info to become fully active in the system. They explained the issue thoroughly and were very apologetic about it, and it was fixed a couple of hours later.

Out of all the telcos I've ever dealt with (and I once worked for Optus Prepaid!) I rate them number 1 for customer service. If all prices were the same, they'd be my choice.

They have their moments like all call centres do, but at least you are dealing with people who understand your issue and commit to getting it fixed.

  • Bought the 49.9 one now I have this one 2 of the previous $5 for 29.90 plus a Kogan code one for the 30 days 12 gigs for $1 too many portings!
of all the offers this is the most expensive.

  • Just ordered two. Thanks :)
