Air Asia Flight KL-Melb $100

440

Check the deal on Airasiaplus first (it gives you a list of flight dates and costs rather than 1 by 1 on the AirAsia site). I just booked my flight for the 28th February $100 including baggage and taxes. Other dates are available and perhaps there are flights from Melbourne - KL as well. Happy (cheap) traveling.

  • thanks heaps!

  • on 1. March 2011 only $86 haven't check include tax or not

  • I see fares as low as $86 departure and $62 home. (Didn't check tax).

It's amusing to see cheaper flights overseas than domestic flights. /sigh

  • That airasiaplus site is handy.

  • haha, that's the reason why I haven't even been to NZ. The cheapest sale I've seen for return flight to NZ (4h flight) is around $300 while I can get a longer 8hour return flight to KL for less than $300.

sigh you must be noob for not knowing AA routes from GC. Airasiaplus is just a search site to make it easier to search for cheap fare since it list 15days at one.
You need to go to Airasia website to book anyway, Airasiaplus is for info only. Voting neg because of your noob-ness is not a good excuse. I have given you a neg as well for your noob-ness

The golden rules for airasia flights

      1. its a airport to airport service. any passenger from Australia must purchase

      a. one ticket to go to KUL

      b. another one for next destination

      c. you have to purchase 2 tickets separately.

      1. Never purchase the return ticket with Australian dollar. for example purchase MEL-KUL with AU dollar
but KUL-MEL with MYR. Which would save you few dollar.

      2. for newbies to know the route use this site

      http://www.dohop.com

      1. airasiaplus.com and adioso.com are great websites to monitor prices.
      • I don't understand why should you purchase the return with ringgits?

        • Works out cheaper then buying from the AUD website

Your negative has absolutely NO BENEFIT to other users of Ozbargain. Can you think before you vote next time?

    • +1

You're right, your neg vote is misguided

    • +2

you know that your vote is misguided and yet you still do it.

    • what an apt username for yourself !

except, i see it as neither half full nor half empty..

The most negatives i've seen on a post in a long while

    • Sorry for informing you of a super cheap flight and an accessible way to search for it. Next time i should keep it to myself i guess?

    • I would love to know how the mods thought this was a valid neg vote. Doesn't even abide by the neg voting rules…

    • jug_head, seeing that you have not been a member for that long, you may wish to get yourself familiar with how negative votes work on OzBargain:

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

I didn’t find the site to be easy to use at all.

It's a valid opinion and I can see where you're coming from. However this does not justify a negative vote.

So I’m negging for the unhelpful site plus a lack of detail in the posting

It may be unhelpful for you, but it certainly does to some others. While you're more than welcome to discuss what you feel in regards to the usability of the site, this does not cut it for a negative vote.

      Revoking negative.

  • Why i couldn't get the price to go down to as low as $100 for return flight?
    When is your departure date?

    • ok i misread the title.ok got it.

  • The $86 dollar melb-Kl does NOT include taxes of (approx) $73 pp ie total $160 by my calculation ($50 less tax for return leg). Great deal, great price, but much more expensive than 12 months ago when tickets were $99 pp total.

  • Love the site! Good work! I found return trips for the period I want, for less than $400 return with meals, 20kg luggage and extra legroom. I think that's quite reasonable.

  • Great Deal! Thanks for posting :)

But oh so frustrating with actual booking - i have encountered an error msg which continually asks me to re-enter the title, nationality and date of birth of each passenger…. anyone else encountered this problem? And i've been on hold to their customer service centre for over half an hour!!!! frustration plus!

    • I got that error once and just filled them in and it went through.
      Try a different browser perhaps?

      • I've tried it with firefox and IE, and i keep getting the error msg! i've entered the details in up to 3 times in the same booking and then given up……. what browser did you use?

  • That is ridiculously cheap. Definitely a +

  • This site is much much better than adioso (kinda they never updated anymore), thanks a lot scrone

    • Each do things different and don't really compete with each other. Use both to find good deals.

  • Travel time?

  • Rodzy, just to clarify. I was saying my flight KL - MEL was $100AUD (285 MYR) including baggage (15kgs) and taxes.

  • ah dude! legend. thanks for sharing!!!!

  • Thats great and all but do you have book your flight before a certain date?

  • +1

Thanks Scrone(y) - yes, it IS much cheaper to come back. The return tax is about $50 pp less (departure tax from Oz probably) AND (as with ALL AirAsia transactions) their conversion from $Au to MYR is very poor - It's MUCH cheaper to pay in MYR where possible (and let your bank do the conversion). But you still can't get to KL for less than $160.

    • Do you know of a way to pay for MEL-KUL in MYR? The website always defaults to AUD.

      • Do only the Mel KUL booking (one way) through the Malaysian-English site

  • The prices will gradually increase with the amount of seats they fill. The longer you wait the greater the risk. The deal says it's until the 10th of August but there won't be any sub-$100 tickets left by then.

  • Can i find out if people are successful with their bookings? I am STILL getting this error message….

"[1347:InvalidPaxType] Sorry, an error has occurred. Please try again. If the error persists, please contact our call center and inform us of this problem."

I have re-entered the information they want up to 3 times and it's still showing the error message and then needing me to select a title / nationality / date of birth of each pax.

I finally got to speak to the customer service team… completely useless but they said they've passed it onto their IT dept who will fix the problem in 40mins… that was 3 hours ago.

I've been trying to make a booking since 8.15am this morning to no avail. I've never had this type of problem booking with them before. I've tried using IE and FF as the browser.

Any tips or suggestions?… I would be ever so grateful!

    • I didn't have any problems with it booking both legs of my flight.
Have you had any luck since two days ago?

If you don't know, there is one page, where you fill in contact details and before you click on the "choose my seat" button, there is another page you fill with the travellers' details. If you try to go straight to the choose my seat button, then all the errors come up. I've encountered that, and just started my booking again from scratch.

      Good luck.

  • Sounds like a problem with their server communicating with your computer. I'd suggest getting a friend to book it for you or head down to an internet cafe.

  • i got this error, and i know my credit card works and has money on it.

[5066:NotPaidInFull] We are unable to successfully process one or more payments. Please select a different payment and apply it …until the balance due is zero.

    • I got the same error when booking my flight a while back. I cannot remember what I had forgotten to do but when I re read the form I had simply missed something or used the incorrect format and then it went thru ok.

  • I won't book any more tickets with AA coz all my travelling plan for 2011 has been booked with Free Seat sale 2 months ago :)

Because of AA Free Seat sale, now I really hesitate to book for return ticket of >$300 MEL-KL :) guess I'll wait for their next Free Seat sale.
