  • just bought one from office works after seeing this post. its selling for $198, but I got them to beat harvey norman's price by 5%. Only $160. :) BEtter get in quick coz OW will start adjusting their prices! haha

    • lucky you..hope they do not adjust price till tomm :)

    • do they call or do they just look at a print out and say ok?

      • they checked the HN website.

  • Question:

Bonus Map Bonus Europe or USA/Canada Map valued at up to $119

Sure there may be some people that may take this with them to Europe or USA/Canada, but couldn't they have given a better bonus. (though I shouldn't complain as this is pretty cheap)

    • hasn't the bonus map offer finished?
      http://tomtombonusmap.campaign.net.au/

also question mark about the XL250 being eligible…from the T&C
      10. Eligible models: TomTom XL 340 Australia, TomTom XXL 540 Australia, TomTom GO 750 Australia, TomTom XL 250 New Zealand, TomTom XL 340 New Zealand, TomTom XXL 550 New Zealand, TomTom GO 750 New Zealand or a TomTom GO 950 Australia / New Zealand

don't bother ringing Tomtom to get an answer…spent 20 mins waiting

  • You guys may want to try Clive Peters, I dropped in to the one in Braybrook (227 Ballarat Road (cnr Ashley Street)3019 VIC), and they have boxed units at 30%off and 50% off ex display or open boxed ones. I dont know my GPS so I do not know what series they are but they had a handful of them.

    • I thought Clive Peters closed down

      • they were bought out by HN.

  • Hey Guys, would anyone know how to claim your bonus Map if you purchase from OW?

  • Excellent timing as I was going to buy this model tomorrow lunchtime. Will take a trip to office works and hope they haven't drop their price.

Do you guys dismount the GPS when your car is in the car park? The one thing that preventing me to buy a GPS is the thought of having to mount/dismount it on a regular basis.

    • dismounting isn't that hard - it just slides out

      • What about the suction cup? If you leave the mount on the windscreen then you might as well just leave the GPS there.

The idea is to hide everything so you don't end up with a $500 bill to replace broken glasses because some scumbag wanted your $200 GPS.

Unless you opt-in for windscreen cover.

  • I just is back from officeworks of Sydney CBD, and they told me it is out of stock. I think they do not want to sell it with too lower price. No idea.

  • Standard price is $249.

  • went to Dick Smith for price match as it is close to my work..they called HN but the b*st**d at HN told incorrect price $238..Dick Smith refused to check website and price match..too bad..lesson to cary print out in future

  • Result - OW Vic Park price matched with print out from HN website. $159.60 paid, thanks OP

  • Damn, was planning to get one after work, called OW up and apparently they've matched the price at $168 ~_~

    • I can confirm Auburn officeworks have lowered their price down to 168 to avoid 5% discount. But it is still advertised for $198 but scans up $168. Best i could get there was $165 for two units. HN at Auburn didnt want to beat that price either.

  • Or you can try Kmart, it's $199 and their price matching policy is to beat the competition by 10% of the difference, so ($199 - $168) x 10% = $3.10, $168 - $3.10 = $164.90.

Only worthwhile if you have Kmart nearby but not HN or OW.

  • Office Works in Highett price-matched and gave the 5% discount :) Apparently they're out of stock now, though.

    Good post.

  • North Sydney OW also lowered the price to $168..gave up and bought the last piece they had..!

  • Is it any good? I can't seem to find any extensive reviews on it haha.

  • To Astroe, I just used this today and I found a shortcut back to my house bypassing 2 traffic lights. I would say it's pretty good :P

  • Picked one up over the weekend for $160 from Good Guys which was way below their cost price apparently.. but were still happy to sell. Excellent GPS at this price.
