  • Are these the ones that come with 4GB of data for Optus mobile broadband?

Come on Telstra, you've been too quiet with these lately! I'm guessing you're still feeling butthurt from all of those $10 deals last year.

  • Any time limit/restrictions on activating the Optus SIM's?

    • curious to know when the credit expires too

      • It says 30 days on the packet (at Coles), but as previously mentioned, that was to prevent people from hoarding them…

I believe the expiry date is on the SIM card packet?

I previously purchased it during the last Coles offer and only activated it last week…

        • Yeah, i want to hoard lol, that's why i am asking hahah

          @hmtk: I'm guessing they're playing scare-tactics…

I know Voda SIM's have no expiry?

I bought the Boost $30 for $8.50 recently, it says activated within 18 months…

          The expiry on the SIM says: 03 Oct 2020, so that's… 3y 7m 3d (or 43m 3d (from today, not purchase))…

        • @NGPriest:

Yeah i was looking into getting the voda sims. I didn't jump at that boost deal because i had no proof of when the sims actually expire (didn't wanna order them and only have a month or two

@hmtk: It's either 18 months (on the offer page) or else 3y 7m (on the SIM card)…

        • @NGPriest So how many days did you take to activate it?

        • @StrayfireX: Haven't activated it yet…

        • @NGPriest:

"I previously purchased it during the last Coles offer and only activated it last week…"

I meant the Optus SIM, sorry.

I want to see if I can hoard the Optus $30 SIMs.

      • I did online chat with Optus 1 hour ago and the person said "I'm sorry but the $30 credit won't apply because the credit will expire after 30 days."

  • You Can't port to Optus due to their system being down. It's been down for about 10 days now. Check before porting.

    • You can port. It is just very delayed. I ported in on Friday, but took 18 hours sadly because they are having problems with their system. Give them a call if it doesn't activate and they will escalate it

      • I was ported 10 days ago (after a 6 day wait for the port to actually be processed). Phone worked for about 5 hours then went to SOS only. Their support has been useless. First told me to wait 24 to 48 hours. Then told to go into one of their stores and get a new SIM as that may be the problem. Then wait another 24 to 48 hours. Five days on from that still not working. Finally yesterday they admitted it's a backend problem with no timeframe for a fix! I've asked their support to escalate it on several occasions but no response other than I'll just have to wait. It must be a hell of an outage they are having!

      • Tried to escalate today. No go. Was told it may be another week!!

        • wow that is pathetic of them. Try requesting a manager

I have and been on chat. It has been 5 days now for me. It has been escalated. The even gave me a free month when it finally does port. Every day I'm told it will be within 24 hours. What a joke.
