"for $10 per week. Normal price $39 per month" - Am I missing something?

    • you get a digital newspaper subscription included too.

"What sites can you access as part of our news+ network?
Our news+ network is made up of our most popular news sites, like dailytelegraph.com.au, heraldsun.com.au, couriermail.com.au and advertiser.com.au. As a Member, you get access to them all PLUS perthnow.com.au and a subscription to foxsports.com.au."

Not a great deal though considering you get billed for a full 12 months ($520), and the football only goes for 6 months of the year.
You have to pay the full year too- it's a lock in 12 month plan

Yeah, but who reads News Corp "news" anyway, let alone pays for it?!

        • I'm no fan of journalism these days, but I'd take Newscorp over Fairfax any day!

They must have read it as normal price of $39p/m, now $10p/m (saving $29p/m), instead of $10p/w?

      $39 x 12 = $468
      $10 x 52 = $520

So this is more than normal price?

The Advertiser digital subscription with Foxtel Play is $0 upfront and then $10 a week ($40 billed 4 weekly) on a 12-month plan.

A weekend bundle subscription (which includes weekend newspapers home delivered) is $189 upfront — $149 plus the first month’s subscription — and then $40 billed 4 weekly on a 12-month plan (min. cost $669).

12 month plan.. which is stupid for a promotion targeting people who want to watch AFL only.

You'ld be better off getting FOXTEL Play standalone at $39 a month with sports and no contract, then cancelling after the season ends. The comparison works out to be about $270 v $520

Don't forget this service is pretty much unwatchable (SD) unless you have Telstra TV which is the only decide which will stream HD (720p) on some channels

    • I think you can get AFL free through one of the gambling sites if you have credit in your account. Saw it mentioned in a thread here.

      • CrownBet, however The resolution is very low, not watchable on a tv.

        • Thanks. This newspaper deal is for NRL too. Far better and cheaper choices for NRL, and one is even free.

Sadly, even some foxtel deals with entertainment + sport provide better value……and that's saying something.

  • I have foxtel entertainment and sport package for $25 per month at the moment

    • How? I've seen it advertised for $35 pm but 25 is insane.

If you ring up and threaten to disconnect your foxtel, they offer you discounted rates.

Current deal being offered for not disconnecting is 3 months of ent + sports for $26/month, no contract.

Whirlpool has a huge thread on bargaining deals with foxtel.

The 3 months free Pop deal is still going (use code TELPRESBOH10), meaning you can get sport for $29 a month for 3 months:

    https://www.foxtel.com.au/foxtelplay/offer/prestovoucher.htm…

    • wen does the presto deal end?

      • At the bottom of that page:

"Offer valid until expiry of Presto voucher which is no later than 31 July, 2017."

  • Foxtel's misleading advertising at its best.

  • I hope they include a slap with a wet fish or a poke in the eye for the added premium of this "deal"!

Not really a deal. I can sign up for sport and other channels now for $39 a month, no contract. Which means once footy season is over I can switch it off for a few months and save. Same deal if you just want take a month off for a holiday etc.

They will throw in a newspaper subscription if you 'contract' for 12 months. Might be a saving if you intend on keeping Foxtel Play for 12 months anyway but it's debatable considering how bad and full of fake news our newspapers are these days.

Also if people are wondering, unless you spend over $100 buying a telstra tv box with the Play app on it we can't watch the footy (or any other channel) of foxtel play in HD so a 12 month contract might not be a good thing if it's unwatchable. They say HD will happen via other platforms… but when?

    • ps4 platform would be a good start for 720p HD, save me buying yet another device :-|
